Another view of the Balkans war

WAR COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IN THE BALKANS –

There are those who fervently believe that war could have been avoided in the
Balkans had it not been for the imperialist actions of a supremely arrogant
cabal of Western capitalist.

With their obscene race to effect so-called independence for Slovenia, Croatia,
Bosnia and Kosovo, their insane need to sweep away the last crumbs of socialism
in Yugoslavia and grab the markets there, they caused this terrible war. A war
which brought chaos, horror and loss of every kind to ALL the peoples of the ex
Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Furthermore, their use of special
agents to carry out terrorist attacks and rig election results has ensured the
placing in to power of right wing leaders who are dedicated to suppression of
working class and poorer populations in the region. These entrepreneurs, their
hired thugs in the field and those in the media who promoted their case, are the
true War Criminals in the Balkans scenario.

THE BIG SPIN -

MILOSEVIC – PERPETRATOR OF ALL CRIMES IN THE BALKANS –

One way in which the media rallied public support for bombing Yugoslavia on
behalf of the US and German Military Industrial Barons was to demonise the
Serbs, in particular the former President of Yugoslavia, Slobodan Milosevic. For
one they used his speech delivered in Kosovo in 1989 stating that it was
nationalistic …..

If one were to read the BBC word for word translation of that speech you will
find the speech to be just the opposite – It was a message of unity and equality
between people of all ethnic backgrounds in Yugoslavia. (Analysis available on
request from icdsm (Irish Section) at above email address).

Milosevic is accused by the media as being responsible for the break up of
Yugoslavia.

But – The National Security directive ‘US Policy Towards Yugoslavia’ was issued
by the White House Washington DC in 1984. The document outlined a policy to
forge a new Balkan order that was based on the market organisation of economies
and envisaged ‘spheres of influence’ for the major powers. This policy document
was issued three years before Slobodan Milosevic came to power and six years
before the break up of Yugoslavia began.

Slobodan Milosevic is on trial for war crimes allegedly committed by the
Yugoslav Peoples Army (JNA) during the war in Croatia between 1991 and 1995 and
the war which took place in Bosnia between 1992 and 1995.

But – Milosevic was not elected to the position of President of Yugoslavia until
1997. He was not therefore in a position of power to order or instruct the Federal
Yugoslav Army to do anything.

The JNA has been accused by the media of invading Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia
and carrying out a multitude of alleged crimes during the course of the wars in
those former Yugoslav states in the first half of the 1990’s and all supposedly
on orders from – Slobodan Milosevic.

Ridiculous –

The accusations levelled against Slobodan Milosevic and the Yugoslav Peoples
Army (later to become the Yugoslav Army) are made to look even more absurd
since, as already mentioned, Milosevic was not President of Yugoslavia until
1997. In June 1991, the European Community (now the EU) ordered the JNA confined
to barracks. In fact this latter directive left JNA forces at the mercy of the
International Brigade (foreign Nazi mercenaries operating for the Slovenian,
Croatian and Bosnian separatists) and local separatist forces. JNA Barracks were
kept under siege by the separatists for months – Barracks were burnt down and
JNA troops slaughtered by the separatists as they tried to escape or leave the
barracks to make their way home once given the go ahead to leave by the
international policy makers. These crimes are well documented with the UN.

The secession of Slovenia in 1991 was, despite media statements to the
contrary, a vicious affair. In June 1991, the Slovenian military formations
without any cause killed in cold blood JNA soldiers who were securing the border
between Austria and Italy and took over border posts. At the time JNA forces
were simply carrying out a routine job within their own country. Border control
is common to all countries across the globe.

After the international declaration of independence for Bosnia and after the
outbreak of war, and it is no accident that the two coincided, the JNA started
withdrawing from Bosnia in accordance with the previously signed agreement. This
is stated in the report of the Secretary-General of the United Nations,
Boutros-Ghali, dated the 30th of May, 1992, addressed to the Security Council.
It is also recorded in the same document that the army of Republika of Srpska,
established on the 15th May 1992, was not under the control of Belgrade. The
report also states that a considerable part of the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina
was illegally under the occupation of the official forces of the Republic of Croatia.
However, the then president of the Security Council, the Austrian Petar van Felner,
concealed, or, rather, withheld part of that report of Bourtos-Ghali until sanctions
were voted for by the Security Council against Yugoslavia –

(Sanctions incidentally, which, according to the UNHCR caused the deaths of
thousands, possibly up to 20,000 deaths in Yugoslavia as vital medicines were
blockaded and the fact that the state of Serbia alone, by the mid 1990’s, had
given sanctuary to 700,000 Serb, Bosnian Muslim (70,000), Romany and Croatian
refugees from the former Yugoslav states. The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia,
despite years of sanctions had provided shelter to almost 1 million refugees
from 26 different ethnic groups.)

Why then were sanctions imposed on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia when the
Croatian Government Army had acted against international law in its illegal
occupation of parts of Bosnia? Yugoslavia had not breached international
borders – but Croatia had – Never mind – punish Yugoslavia as usual.

Warren Zimmerman, the last US ambassador to the Socialist Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia made the following comment on the position of the JNA and the
so-called heroic struggle in Slovenia and Croatia against the still common and
legal Yugoslav army – quote page 173 of his book ‘The Source of a Catastrophe’ –
‘The JNA was in its own country. Its troops were legitimately deployed in all
the Yugoslav republics. Even so, after the declaration of independence by
Slovenia and Croatia, the troops were treated as occupying troops even when they
did not leave their barracks. The Slovenian and then the Croatian tactics,
which cannot boast of any particular heroism, was based on avoiding open
conflict and attempting to bring the soldiers in the barracks to a state of
hunger and forcing them to leave. The JNA, which until yesterday was a protector
of the country and today has been treated as the occupier.’

End quote from Zimmerman book -

One of the most active anti-Serb activists, Warren Zimmerman, who was then on
the spot, is pointing to a well-known fact that it is wrong to speak of an attack by the
JNA on Slovenia and Croatia whilst The Hague Tribunal prosecution have been
given the task of saying that aggression was perpetrated there by the JNA on its
own country.

Remember in the early days, at the beginning of the war in Bosnia, the media
stated constantly that ‘the Yugoslav Army has invaded Bosnia’ or ‘Serbs invade
Bosnia’ – TV audiences would then be show a map of Bosnia – The presenter would
point to darkened areas where the ‘Yugoslav Army had invaded and now occupy
Bosnia’. 70% of the map was darkened.

But – Prior to this war, as mainly farming people, Serbs owned, worked and lived
on nearly 70% of Bosnian territory. (Under the Contact Group Plan Serb leaders
in Bosnia agreed to relinquish 21% of their territory to the Muslim/Croat Federation.)
Did then ‘the Serbs’ invade their own homelands???

SO-CALLED SERBIAN HEGEMONY -

On the 2nd Day of Defence Trial at The Hague in The Netherlands – 1st September
2004 during the course of his opening speech, Slobodan Milosevic said – quote -
‘Within Yugoslavia, the Croatian separatist tendencies did not fully disappear
with the defeat and disappearance of the quisling fascist independent state of
Croatia in World War II. These tendencies began to be displayed quite openly in
the early 1970’s with the so-called mass movement in Croatia by a part of the
republican leadership when demands were put forward for the independence of
Croatia and very strong pressure and threats were directed towards the Serbian
(and other non Catholic) people in Croatia. Although in post-WWII Yugoslavia,
among the most prominent state leaders, the Croats were given especially
significant posts, and they dominated in absolute numbers. Even so, in Croatia
and in some other places, the thesis was constantly fabricated that there was
so-called Serb hegemony there. What the Serb domination or hegemony looked like
we shall see.

From WWII throughout the existence of Yugoslavia, it is very well known that
from the end of WWII until his death in 1980, the indisputable leader was Tito,
who was a Croat. During the existence of socialist Yugoslavia from 1945 to 1992,
over a period of 47 years at the head of the Yugoslav government, 30 years, were
Croats. And during the remaining 17 years, it was all the others. Only one of
them was a Serb, from 1963 to 1967, and that was Petar Stambolic.
When all this is borne in mind, how can we say that it was the Serbs who
dominated in the political leadership of the country? As for the army, your own
witness described the composition of the top leadership at the time of the
break-up of Yugoslavia. There was one Yugoslav and that was the Minister for
Defence, Veljko Kadijevic, from Croatia, from a mixed marriage between a Serb
and a Croat woman; two Serbs, one from Serbia, one from Bosnia; eight Croats;
two Slovenians; Two Macedonians; and one Muslim.

We should add to this that Tito’s closest collaborator and the creator of the
constitutional system in all its stages was a Slovene, Edvard Kardelja. All
this shows quite clearly that the story of some kind of Serbian domination in
Yugoslavia is a pure and simple lie as well as the statement that the Croats and
Slovenians had cause to complain of inequality and insufficient representation.
The story of Serb hegemony was only a propaganda tool which went against the
truth and which was used to justify secessionist aspirations.
(Also refer note at end of section headed ‘NATO War Criminals in The Balkans
Scenario’ herein)

In post-WWII Yugoslavia, the Ustasha genocide over the Serbs (Yugoslav Jews and
Gypsies) was a topic that was not much talked about. The remaining Serbs on the
territory of the former (WWII) Independent state of Croatia, especially those in
the Krajina which the well-known Serbian poet Matija Beckovic described as the
remnants of a slaughtered people, tacitly agreed not to talk about the
sufferings of their relatives, even not to bury them in a proper way. The mass
graves, Jadovnov (phoen), Pribilovci, Golubnjaca were simply covered over with
concrete and left to be forgotten, whereas here the thesis has been put forward
that the Serbs reburied their dead later on, although these people had never
been given a proper burial.

Bearing in mind this terrible mass crime from the not so distant past, what
could the Serbs in Croatia feel when in February 1990, at the rally of the
fascist HDZ in Zagreb, the president of that party, Tudjman, said, among other
things, the Independent State of Croatia was not only a fascist crime, it was
also an expression of the historical aspirations of the Croatian people. What
was more natural than for the crowd to respond and to raise their voices before
‘the Croatian people,’ in quotation marks, because this was not referring to all
Croatian people but to extremists aided from abroad, before they set out anew to
realise their so-called historical aspirations.
(Ends Milosevic quote of 1.9.2004).

THE CENSORED HOLOCAUST –

Over 1 million Serb, Gypsy and Jewish Yugoslavs were rounded up and murdered in
death camps such as Jasenovac run by the Nazi/Vatican- backed Croatian Ustashe
forces in Croatia in the 1940’s - Refer ‘The Yugoslav Auschwitz and the
Vatican’ by Vladimir Dedijer and ‘Genocide Against The Serbs 1941-1945
1991-1992’ compiled by Bojana Isakovic for the Serbian Academy of Sciences in
Belgrade – There are many other reference books which detail this censored
holocaust against Serb, Gypsy, and Jewish people and of people of other ethnic
backgrounds in Yugoslavia to include Croatian anti fascist activists who
perished at the hands of the fanatic anti socialist Ustashe forces and Bosnian
Muslim fascist SS Handzar division during the 1940’s.

Edmond Paris, author of the book ‘Genocide in the Satellite Croatia, 1941 –
1945’ Chicago 1961 writes – ‘’The greatest genocide during World War II, in
proportion to the number of the population, did not take place in Nazi Germany,
but in a Nazi product, the puppet state of Croatia. In the period 1941-1945,
about 750,000 Serbs, 60,000 Jews and 26,000 Gypsies (men, women and children)
were killed there in a holocaust of gigantic proportions. These are the figures
cited by numerous foreign authors, particularly Germans, who were in the best
position to know about them’.(End quote.)

In respect of fascist anti socialist separatist activities in the 1980’s, the
only mainstream journalist to my knowledge to cover this aspect of war in The
Balkans was David Lomax on the BBC in 1993 when he touched on Australia’s
involvement in the break up of Yugoslavia and how anti Yugoslav émigré forces in
Australia flew from their bases in Sydney to carry out assassinations of people
in public life be they Serb, Croatian or Muslim inYugoslavia who campaigned for
the continuation of a united Yugoslavia.

Coming from Australia I know that the anti Yugoslav mainly Croatian Ustashe
emigres trained with the Australian Army in camps on the boarder of Victoria and
NSW during the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. They also used publicly funded ethnic
broadcasting stations to further their cause. Hate filled anti Yugoslavia
propaganda programmes made in radio stations such as the CIA funded 5 EBI FM in
Adelaide South Australia during the first half of the 1980’s were recorded and
sent to Yugoslavia where they were played on what were then semi-underground pro
separatist radio outlets. The effect being, to create a sense of nervousness and
distrust between ethnic communities in Yugoslavia. The programmes included a
call to take up arms against, for example, non-Catholic peoples living in
Croatia. 5EBIFM was threatened with closure by the then Minister for
Telecommunications after complaints were lodged by members of the Yugoslav
community in Adelaide, to include concerned members of the Croatian Yugoslav
community in South Australia.

‘The Serbs fought the Nazis in WWII, they paid a terrible price for standing at
the side of the Allies against Hitler. They saved many allied soldiers including
hundreds of American fliers. They welcomed Jewish partisans as brothers.
Hitler bombed the Serbs for their stubborn resistance. Are our President and
NATO going to follow in the same direction (instead of finding a peaceful
solution)? I shudder to think of it. Hitler and Clinton, no, it cannot be’.
(John Ranz, Chairman of Survivors of the Buchenwald Concentration Camp ‘World
Affairs’, London March 1995.)

Belgrade Daily Tanjug – 6th April 1996 – Some 2,270 people died when the
Germans began their dawn bombing raids on Belgrade on 6th April 1941. According
to German statisticians, 484 bombers dropped 360 tonnes of bombs. Some 700
buildings, including the central post office and the railway station were
destroyed and 1,700 buildings were damaged in the bombings. The total of 350,000
books were destroyed in the raids. During the 11 day April war, 136 Yugoslav
pilots were killed and 80 German aircraft were downed.

‘As we wait for the first American bombs and missiles to fall on Serbian
so-called military targets in Bosnia, we remember US bombing raids on Yugoslavia
in WWII. It was Orthodox Easter Sunday morning 1943 and a beautiful sunny,
cloudless day, when US bombers made their first appearance over Belgrade. Their
targtes: bridges over the River Sava, railway yards, German barracks etc; Their
first direct hit? THE MATERNITY HOSPITAL,in the centre of Belgrade, with a large
red cross painted on its roof. Thousands of Belgrade citizens died that Easter
morning, while the German military targets remained largely undamaged. One four
storey building in the residential centre of Belgrade, destroyed in the US raid,
is today the US Embassy in Yugoslavia. Similar fate awaited the citizens of
towns like Kraljevo, Leskovac etc. Can we expect that the first ‘Military’
target destroyed in Bosnia will be a hospital, school, homes and vital services?
Of course, today’s technology is far more advanced, and the missiles hit the
intended targets; tell that to the dead school children in Baghdad, the British
soldiers in their armoured vehicle in the desert, the residents and staff of the
El Rashid Hotel in Baghdad, or the Somali civilians in the ‘WAR LORD’S HQ’
Mogadishu!

When the power of the ‘mighty dollar’ falls, military thuggery follows. The
anti-nuclear protests of the sixties were inevitably accompanied by the slogan
‘Yankee Go Home;’. Maybe it’s time they did’. (End quote – Serbian Information
Bureau, Dublin 14th August 1993 – At this time the USA was gearing up to bomb
Serb communities in Bosnia)

On the 8th December, 1993, the New York Times reported that 10,000 Serbian homes
in a rural area of Croatia had been blown up with dynamite. This had been done
by the forces of US/German backed Franjo Tudjman.

During its violent secession from Yugoslavia in 1991, Croatia expelled more than
300,000 Serbs, and Serbs were eliminated from ten towns and 183 villages’.
Croatian death squads murdered 2,500 Serbs in Western Slavonia in 1991 and 1992.
Leader of the Croatian death squads, Tomislav Mercep told local press that he
defends these attacks as ‘heroic deeds.’

Chris Hedges, in The New York Times on 16th June, 1997, said that 500,000 of the
600,000 ethnic Serbs from Herzegovina fled when Croat effected a de facto
annexation of largely Catholic region of Herzegovina to Croatia.

‘THE WASTELANDS OF HISTORY’ - FRANJO TUDJMAN -

This is what Franjo Tudjman had to say in 1990 in support of the nazi ‘ideology’
in his book titled ‘The Wastelands of History’ – ‘genocide is a natural
phenomenon, in harmony with the societal and mythologically divine nature.
Genocide is not only permitted, it is recommended even commanded by the word of
the Almighty, whether it is useful for the survival or the restoration of the
Kingdom of the Chosen Nation, or for the preservation and the spreading of its
one and only correct faith’.

Upon achieving power in 1991 Tudjman surrounded himself with fellow right wing
extremists. These included ageing former operatives with the World War II
Croatian Nazi regime. Some of whom had been incorporated into service during the
cold War era with western Intelligence agencies. Perhaps the most sinister
figure to emerge, though certainly not from the shadows in recent times since he
lived the good life in Australia for 50 years, is one Dinko Sakic. Sakic was the
last commander of the Jasenovac extermination camp in Croatia. On Sakic’s return
to Croatia in 1991, Tudjman appointed him to a Senior position in the Croatian
government. Another Tudjman appointee was Ustashe member Julienne Bushich, who
in September 1976 took part in the hijack of a TWA airliner. Bushich was given
the job of adviser to the Croatian ambassador to Washington. Her husband Zvonko,
also a Croat member of the Ustashe Nazi forces, is serving a life term for
planting a bomb at New York’s main railway station. Many more high ranking
Nazi/Ustashe members were appointed to positions in the new Croat government.
Despite efforts by the powers that be to diminish the horrors perpetrated by the
Nazi forces during the 1940’s and attempts by certain writers in the west to re
write history pertaining to that time, people nevertheless across the world
manage to learn about what happened in camps such as Auschwitz, Dachau etc.
there has though been a very successful conspiracy by forces in the West to
totally censor the holocaust which took place in Yugoslavia during the 1940’s.

THE CHEQUERED BANNER IN THE SERVICE OF CRIME, PERSECUTION AND FEAR -
When the Western backed Franjo Tudjman came to power in Croatia, he resurrected
the Ustashe chequered flag as the national flag of the Republic of Croatia. The
Ustashe flag flies today as the national flag of Croatia.

‘The fear of new pogroms the Serbs felt after the forceful secession of Croatia
from Yugoslavia in 1991, proved to be completely justified and understandable.
The unprecedented national-chauvinistic euphoria in Croatia resulted in the
renewed hoisting of the chequered banner under which the Ustasha in WWII
exterminated innocent civilians. The political scene of Croatia filled again
with ideologists of the Ustasha ideology and their progeny. Zagreb opened wide
its doors to the Ustasha criminals from the time of the WWII Independent state
of Croatia, presenting them awards, publishing their books in which they speak
of their shameless memories of the crimes they have committed.

By an express decision of the Croat parliament, the Serbs were expunged from the
constitution as a constituent people. This expulsion was followed by attacks on
Serbian property, blowing up of their houses, destruction of Christian Orthodox
churches, firing of Serbs from their jobs, maltreatment and even murders. Once
again, columns of the exiles set out towards Serbia. According to the data
provided by the UN High Commission for Refugees, 130,000 persons fled from
Croatia to Serbia during the course of 1991. Another 97,000 Serbs fled at that
time from the area under the control of the Croat authorities, to the Krajina,
Barnja, Eastern Slavonia and the Knin Krajina.

In 1995 – The most brutal Croat crimes and genocide against the Serbian
population were committed in May and August 1995, when the large and well armed
Croat military-police supported by US/NATO air and ground forces took by storm 5
towns in Western Slavonia, ( Knin Krajina, Banija, Lika and Kordu) killing a
large number of civilians, burning down and robbing entire villages and towns in
that area where the Serbs had lived for centuries as a majority population. Some
300,000 Serbs were ‘ethnically cleansed’ from Kajina on this occasion making
this action the biggest act of ‘ethnic cleansing’ of the latest war in the
Balkans.

Karl Bildt, co-president of the Geneva Conference and envoy of the European
Union, on this occasion responded by stating that the Croat President Franjo
Tudjman could be charged with being responsible for the crimes committed by the
Croat armed forces in the Krajina. The mission of the International Helsinki
Federation for Human Rights, which paid a visit to the Knin Krajina after the
Croat armed intervention, made a report submitting it to international forums,
confirming that the Croat army and police have completely burnt down the Serbian
villages of Kistanje and Srba, that Donji Lapac had been destroyed and that mass
graves of murdered civilians have been discovered. The Helsinki Federation for
Human Rights also informed the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague of
the results of its investigations. The United Nations also informed the public
of the grave violations of human rights, murders, plunders and arsons committed
by Croat forcers in the Krajina area. (Notes taken from ‘The Continuity of a
Crime’ Published by House Idea in Belgrade November 1995).

Operation Storm – Of the USA-backed 1995 Croatian offensive called Operation
Storm carried out against the Serbian citizens of Croatia, the Defense and
Foreign Affairs Strategic Policy organisation in the UK wrote in its July/August
1995 edition -

‘This journal predicted, earlier this year, the impending Croatian offensive
against those of its own citizens who, although they were of Serbian culture
origin, were of families whose lineage for centuries was from the Krajina and
Slavonian areas of what is today Croatia. The offensive, when it came as
predicted, was of a ferocity which was staggering. It harkend back to the
savagery of the Croatian Ustase attacks on civilians during World War II. The
world’s media was not on hand to report what was the most brutal case of genuine
‘ethnic cleansing’. It was an action which showed clearly the involvement of the
US Clinton Administration, supporting – with the German Government – the
Croatian Government of Franjo Tudjman.’

US Ambassador to Croatia Peter Fulbright visited Belgrade just before the
Croatian offensive, specifically to cajole and threaten the Yugoslav government,
so that it would not interfere with the Croatian genocidal offensive. Had the
Yugoslav Government refused to listen to these threats, it is possible that the
Croatian Government could have been persuaded not to attack the Krajina Serbs.
But Fulbright used all the powers available to him to do the work of the
Croatian Government and, as such, he bears enormous responsibility for the
thousands of deaths and the hundreds of thousands of Serb refugees.
This was a war crime more than worthy of the name.’
(Ends quote from the DFA)

SERBS CONTINUE TO BE BLAMED FOR ALL WAR CRIMES IN BALKANS -

The official media version has always maintained that the Serbs were responsible
for the outbreak of the war in the Balkans –

But - Lord Carrington, designated as mediator by the real war criminals in the
Balkans War scenario, the Great Powers in Washington and Bonn themselves, thinks
the opposite – quote – ‘If you confine yourself to the origins of the war, it is
the Croats who lit the powder keg by promulgating a constitution which took no
account of the position of the Serbs in Croatia’. Carrington told the Liberation
newspaper on 21st June 1993 ‘the policy of recognition (of independence) was a
tragic error’.

Michel Collon in his book ‘Liar’s Poker The Great Powers, Yugoslavia and the
Wars of the Future, in his chapter on the premature recognition by Germany and
the USA of Croatia and Bosnia as independent states – wrote - ‘Numerous people
who had played an important role in the negotiations of 1991 stated – after some
time – that Germany was responsible for having provoked the war.

Warren Christopher, then US Secretary of State: ‘The Germans bear a special
responsibility. The problems that we are now having over there started with the
recognition of Croatia’. Solidaire 21st October 1995.

Henry Wynaendts, the representative in Yugoslavia at the time of the Dutch
Presidency of the European Community: ‘The ministers of the twelve met on
October 5th, 1991. Discussion was heated. Genscher let it be known that Germany
would, if need be, act alone. Consistent German pressure on the twelve to
recognize Slovenia and Croatia as independent states did not let up’.
L’Engrenage, Paris 1993.

Roland Dumas, then French Minister of Foreign Affairs stated: ‘Because of
internal differences, the EEC threw itself in a premature and precipitate way
into recognising the republics of the former Yugoslavia without considering that
forcing these conditions was going to lead to the explosion of Yugoslavia in
miniature, Bosnia-Herzegovina … By their pressure in favour of the independence
of Croatia and Bosnia, the responsibilities of Germany and the Vatican were
obviously overwhelming’. Liberation, 21st June 1993.

Herbert Okun, at the time adviser to the American mediator Cyrus Vance said: ‘By
the premature and incoherent recognition of Slovenia and Croatia as independent
states, Genscher is co-responsible for what followed, most notably for the war
in Bosnia’. Tageszeltung (Germany) 6th April 1993.

THE MEDIA TOLD US THAT MR MILOSEVIC AND THE SERBS STARTED THE WAR IN
BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA -

But - The first act of violence took place on the 1st March 1992, the second day
of the referendum for the sovereign and independent republic of
Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Sarajevo at a wedding procession in front of the Serbian
Orthodox church (Bascarsija), the father of the groom was killed, the priest was
wounded and the church’s flag was – burned.

On 2nd March 1992, embittered at the failure of the police to make any move to
arrest the assassins who had been identified, the Serbs erected barricades in
Sarajevo. The Muslims also erected theirs.

On the 4th April 1992, a session of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina was
convened. The Serbian members of the presidency, Dr Biljana Plavsic and Dr
Nikola Koljevic, who had been elected on the basis of general elections, were
not even invited.

Alija Izetbegovic leader of the Bosnian Muslim entity then ruined the last
chance for peace in Bosnia. He withdrew his signature from the Cutileiro Peace
Plan which all other parties had signed. Zimmerman promised him that the USA
would support and arm the Bosnian Muslims if he backed out of the Cutileiro
Plan. In fact, the Americans made sure that every peace plan for Bosnia was
ruined. Just as the USA had made the Ramboulliet Plan for Kosovo totally
unacceptable to both warring sides in that region in 1999.

On 6th April 1992 – the European Community recognised the sovereignty and
independence of Bosnia-Herzegovina, a state without defined borders or
established competences, with a suspended constitution and an illegal
presidency. That is, in accordance with new rules set after the multi-party
elections held in Bosnia on 18th November 1990, the job of President of Bosnia
was to be held on a yearly basis only – so after the first year Alija
Izetbegovic should have handed the Presidency of Bosnia to Radovan Karadzic, the
Serbian Democratic Party leader. The following year the Presidency should have
been handed to the leader of the Bosnian Croatian.Democratic Union party.
Alija Izetbegovic failed to honour the new agreed system for Bosnia yet he was
acknowledged by the international community as the legal President of Bosnia-
Herzegovina when in fact he held the position fraudulently.

THE CURRICULUM VITAE FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE OTHER NEW WESTERN
CREATED PUPPET STATE OR BANANA REPUBLIC IN THE BALKANS, ALIJA
IZETBEGOVIC, READS THUS –

As a teenager he co founded Bosnia’s version of ‘Hitler Youth’. He helped
establish the Nazi SS Khanjar Division which was responsible for appalling
atrocities in Yugoslavia in the 1940’s. In 1946 he was arrested and jailed for 3
years for founding the fascist journal MUDZAHID. He played a major role as
ABWEHR and special GESTAPO agent during World War II. In 1983 he was arrested
and jailed for 6 years for anti-social fascist activities.

Izetbegovic exploited and abused the Muslim faith to the detriment of the Muslim
people of Bosnia. Here is his ‘Islamic Declaration’ which was reprinted in
Sarajevo in 1990: ‘There can be no peace or coexistence between Islamic faith
and non-Islamic faith and institutions. The Islamic movement must and can take
power as soon as it is morally and numerically strong enough, not only to
destroy the non-Islamic power, but to build up a new Islamic one …’

In 1990, Izetbegovic had his Islamic Declaration republished in Sarajevo. This
further unsettled people in Bosnia – to include people from Muslim backgrounds
who were accustomed to a more secular rather than a religious way of life.

FOREIGN FASCIST MERCENARIES IN THE BALKANS OPERATING FOR THE
SLOVENIAN, CROATIAN, BOSNIAN AND KOSOVO USA (MAINLY) FUNDED
SEPARATISTS

By 1990, advertisements for mercenaries to support the Croatian anti socialist
separatists in Croatia began to appear in various pro fascist, soldier of
fortune- style magazines in the West. These mercenaries moved between Croatia
and Bosnia and even on to Kosovo to fight with the anti Yugoslavia separatists.
Horrendous crimes were committed by these foreign psychopaths – Many of their
crimes were recorded on video to end up in the lucrative so-called adult video
and snuff movie market in the West. Special video clubs charge thousands of
dollars per seat to view these horrendous films. Special treats for the ultra
rich. An article in the Guardian newspaper in 1995 by actor Denis Waterman
followed up on these special cinema clubs in the UK which were, at that time,
charging 10,000 Pounds per seat to view these horrendous films to club members.

TESTIMONIES BY FOREIGN MERCENARIES OPERATING IN THE BALKANS FOR
THE NATO BACKED CROATIAN, BOSNIAN MUSLIM AND KOSOVO FORCES –

Tanjug 9.7.1995 as originally reported in the Rome daily Il Messagero –
‘Italian-born Roberto dela Feve (27), a mercenary who fought on the side of the
Croatians, has videotaped atrocious crimes committed by Croats and Bosnian
Muslims forces against Serbs in the territory of ex Yugoslavia. dela Feve claims
to have made billions of liras from the sale of tapes on the Western European
black market. ‘You can see a tape of the impaling of a Serbian baby’, dela Feva
told his fellow-Italian, a journalist with Epoca who interviewed him and whose
report is carried by the Belgrade Politika Ekspres. The Epoca journalist said
that dela Feva showed him a tape on which he filmed ‘how we massacred old men
and women as a message to others what their fate would be when they come face to
face with us. Some scenes (raping of Serb women) are identical in content only
different participants are taking turn – Italians, Germans, French or Mujahedin
forces’. Dela Feve said that tapes about the raping of Serb women were in
greatest demand on the West European black horror market. ‘These massacres are
terrible, but it had to be that way. We wanted to kill every hope in them and
hopelessness is the worst predicament’, the Italian mercenary said ‘describing’
the crimes he himself also committed. Dela feve said he personally killed 600
serbs, and added that Serbs should be grateful because he registered on tape
what Croats, Muslims and foreign mercenaries did to them. Dela Feve is a
mercenary of the 109th International Brigade stationed in the Croatian city of
Rijeka, and paid by the Croatian Government’. (End quote).

One horror piles upon another – The Vienna daily Taeglich Alles 15th August 1995
wrote of British mercenaries who founded a ‘Travel Agency’ with branch offices
in Munich and Zagreb in Croatia who were offering Serb man hunts in Croatia. The
daily carried a report by the British Sunday Mirror which said that an
‘International Brigade’ in Croatia was bringing ‘tourists’ equipped with
telescopic sight rifles, live ammunition and bullet-proof vests to safe places
from which they can shoot at helpless civilians. Looting and rape are also
‘activities’ that can be reserved within such monstrous and perverse ‘travel
arrangements’. The initiators of these voyages place advertisements in journals
owned by rightist radical organisations and through computer telecommunications
links. (Ends report from Taeglich Alles 15th August 1995).

Revelations About The Crimes in the villages of Kleka by KLA Member Lyuan
Mazreku –

‘Serbia In The World’ September 1998 –
Investigative Judge: Mrs Danica Maksimovic
Accused: Lyuan Mazreku

The Girl Was Screaming While I Was Raping Her –

When were they kidnapped and where?
- KLA was fighting with the Police in Orahovac . By order of ghani Krasnitchy I
was posted on the top of the hill towering above Orahovac. I was in a trench
with several other people. From the top of the hill we had an excellent view of
the entire town of Orahovac. While the fighting raged, I could see KLA members
capturing people. There were civilians and policemen among them.

Who ordered the kidnapping?
-Fatmir Lima was the commander, orders were also issued by Ghani Krasnitchy and
Hismi Kilya.

Were there any women and children and how many?

-There were some young children aged about eight, I can’t remember how many.
There were also women and young girls. About a hundred of them.

When did this happen?

-This was in July, 3-4 days before the Police liberated the village of Malisevo.

And what happened then?
-When I finished my guard duty, I went with the others from the trench to the
headquarters in Malisevo. I saw then that all the kidnapped persons were loaded
on two busses and shipped off to the village of Klecka.

Where were they before being forced into the busses?
-I had seen a truck. It was full of people. I think that’s where they kept them
before transferring them to the busses. They were escorted by our guards. They
were all going to the village of Malisevo.

And where were the guards?

-They were in a car. There were several cars with guards.

What happened when you arrived there?
-On the way there I saw empty busses returning from Malisevo. Ghani was giving
the orders. He didn’t want to tell us anything beforehand. When we came there he
ordered us to beat them and maltreat them.

How did you maltreat them. What did you do to them?
-I saw Ghani take three girls aside and then rape them. Hismi Kilya also raped a
little girl. He ordered me to hold them down while he was raping them.
Afterwards he ordered me to rape her, and I did.

Who did you rape? Do you know her name?
-It was the girl that Kilya rpaed before me. I herd someone in the crowd call
out her name – Jovana. An elderly woman was calling her. I don’t know whether it
was her mother.

Did she put up a fight?
-She was screaming and crying and saying something in serbian which I did not
understand.

How were these girls dressed?

I don’t remember their clothes. They were all stripped naked.

Did the other also scream when Ghani raped them?

-They did. They screamed, and the other kidnapped persons were crying. While we
were doing this all the other watched.

Was anyone else raped?
-All the females were raped. Ghani ordered that all the kidnapped women are to
be raped and then shot.

Who else among the KLA soldiers raped the women?
-All those that were with the KLA except for the guards, raped the women.

And then what happened?

-then Ghani ordered us to masscre them. He picked out a woman and a child – a
boy aged about eight, and ordered me to torture them. I cut off the boy’s ear
and I did nothing to the woman. I just sent her to the firing squad.

What nationality were the victims?
-They were Serbs. I didn’t want to, but Ghani said I must.

What did the others do?

-They tortured them too. They would cut both their hands to the wrist, or
various parts of the body. I saw Ghani. He gouged the eyes out of a woman, then
cut her both hands at the wrist and both her ears.

What happened then?
-Ghani ordered us to line up and prepare for the execution. There were about 20
of us.

Did you all fire at once?
-the first to shoot were Skender Krasnitchy and the older soldiers and then the
rest of us joined.

Where were the kidnapped persons at that time. Were they all together?

-The kidnapped were in a group with their hands tied behind the back. About 100
of them. Before I started shooting, the girl I raped and the women and the boy I
tortured came up to me. I then stepped out of the line raised my rifle up in the
air and told Ghani I would not shoot. Ghani slapped me, took my rifle away and
put me with the group that was to be executed. Then Kulya and skender Krasnitchy
came up to me and took me back in the line. tHey also gave me back my automatic
rafle.

What was Ghani doing when all this was happening?

-Ghani stood behind me holding a rifle with a grenade on it and told me I would
be shot if I didn’t fire.

You said earlier that there were Albanians and Serbs in the kidnapped group. Can
you make an estimate of how many were Albanians and how many were Serbs?

-I think that the majority were Serbs.

Were there any policemen among them and were they tortured?

-There were several policemen. No one escaped torture.

How did you bury them?

-We buried them individually in graves that had been already prepared.

Where were these graves, and could you identify their location?
-I could find the place. They were on the way out of the village of Klecka on
the road to the village Sedlari.

Did you leave any markings on the graves?

-I don’t know. I left immediately.

And what happened afterwards?
-I was given a three or four days leave. I went home. Then Bekim Mazreku came
over the we did some chores around the house. I was with Bekim when I was
arrested on Friday near Maliseva. (Ends quote from court hearing of KLA member
Lyuan Mazreku)

The resounding silence of the multitudinous numbers of Human Rights
organisations and their various affiliates in the face of this overt co opting
of would be potential killer tourists into commercial pogroms allied to Master
race fascist final solution programmes beggars belief.

CIA –AND SAS TRAIN SEPARATISTS IN THE BALKANS

After the Bosnian and Herzegovinian Assembly session of the 21st December 1991,
the then Bosnian Muslim leader Alija Izetbegovic said he was willing to
sacrifice peace for a sovereign Bosnia.

Soon after there was mass mobilisation and civil war started with abundant
financial help and massive weapons deliveries arriving from Saudi Arabia, Iran,
and other Islamic countries the USA and Germany. After this many Mujahedin
arrived from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran. (Refer article by the Defence and
Foreign Affairs Strategic Policy document of 29th February 1996 titled
‘Mujahedin in Bosnia Up to 20,000 Strong’.)

Many of the fighters were veterans of the war in Afghanistan where they operated
on behalf of the USA and CIA for years to bring down the previous socialist
government and make sure pro western leaders kept the doors open to the West to
allow, for one thing, the free flow of heroin from the region to western Europe
and the USA. Secondly,to ensure unhindered thoroughfare for oil pipelines.

Le Monde Diplomatique, November 1995 - ‘In September 1994, the Taliban
fundamentalists began their war for the conquest of Afghanistan. The brains
behind the war was General Nasr Ullah Babar, Pakistani minister of the Interior.
Well trained and equipped with heavy weapons, the Taliban cleared the oil route,
which profited American multinationals’.

With the arrival of the anti Yugoslavia foreign mercenary foot soldiers in to
Croatia and Bosnia came foreign supposed retired American Army officers.
Just as in the Kosovo war scenario where British SAS forces trained the
US-backed Kosovo Liberation Army (now disguised as the Kosovo Protection Corp
(See Daily Telegraph March 28th 2001 ‘SAS Troops seize Kosovo Bomb Suspects’ and
Tanjug 29th March 2001 ‘British SAS in Kosovo Arrests ‘its former pupils’ so too
were ‘retired’ US army generals hired by private security firms such as
Military Professional Resources Inc in Virginia USA to train and operate with
Croatian and Bosnian Muslim forces against Yugoslav and Serb forces. (Refer Time
Magazine March 1996).

‘The KLA acted as a paramilitary force, present on the ground in Kosovo. It was
integrated by US and British SAS Special Forces and remained in close liaison
with NATO. The KLA was also used by NATO High Command to acquire intelligence on
bombing targets during the 1999 Kosovo campaign.

Confirmed by British military sources, the task of arming and training of the
KLA had been entrusted in 1998 to the US Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) and
(Britain’s 22nd special Air services Regiment), as well as three British and
American private security companies’. (The Scotsman, Glasgow, 29th August 1999).

‘The US DIA approached MI6 to arrange a training program for the KLA, said a
senior British military source. MI6 then sub-contracted the operation to two
British security companies, who in turn approached a number of former members of
the (22 SAS) regiment. Lists were then drawn up of weapons and equipment needed
by the KLA. ‘While these covert operations were continuing, serving members of
22 SAS Regiment, mostly from the unit’s D Squadron, were first deployed in
Kosovo before the beginning of the bombing campaign in March (1999) (Ibid)
While British SAS Special forces in bases in Northern Albania were training the
KLA, military instructors from Turkey and Afghanistan financed by the ‘Islamic
jihad’ were providing the KLA with guerilla and diversion tactics’.

‘Bin Laden had visited Albania himself. He was one of several fundamentalist
groups that had sent units to fight in Kosovo, ….Bin Laden is believed to have
established an operation in Albania in 1994 … Albanian sources say Sali Berisha,
who was then president of Albania, had links with some groups that later proved
to be extreme fundamentalists’. (Sunday Times, London, 29th November 1998).

In the wake of the 1999 Bombing of Yugoslavia, NATO under Wesley Clark’s
command, supported the extension of the terrorist activities of the KLA into
Southern Serbia and Macedonia.

Meanwhile, the KLA – renamed the Kosovo Protection corps (KPC) – was elevated to
United Nations status, implying the granting of ‘legitimate’ sources of funding
through United Nations as well as through bilateral channels, including direct
US military aid. In other words, a terrorist paramilitary force supported by Al
qaeda and linked to organised crime becomes a legitimate ‘civilian’ National
guard, directly supported by NATO and the UN.According to the BBC, ‘Western,
special forces were still training the guerrillas’ meaning that they were
assisting the KLA in opening up ‘a sixth operation zone’ in Southern Serbia and
Macedonia. (BBC, 29th January 2001 at
http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/europe/newid_1142000/1142478.stm)

The evidence presented above confirms that both the US Democrats and the
Republicans have links to Al Qaeda and are complicit in the ‘war on terrorism’.

DEMOGRAPHY -

If one takes the least number recorded, 209,000 Serbs were liquidated in Bosnia
from 1941 – 1945, which is about 17% of the Serb population and 55% of the total
number of war victims. The whole demographic make up of Bosnia was therefore
irreparably altered during that time. The very same story applied with the
cleansing of Serbs from Kosovo by Hitler'’ forces during the 1940'’. In Kosovo
during the 1960’s and 1980’s, the Kosovo separatists (later to become the Kosovo
Liberations Army – KLA) forced hundreds of thousands of Serb and Romany people
from Kosovo.

Paul Cullen, The Irish times 10th August 1999 – Quote – ‘Between 1966 and 1989
an estimated 130,000 Serbs left Kosovo because of harassment and discrimination
by the Albanian majority. More than 160,000 Kosovan Serbs fled their homelands
in 1998/99’.
(End quote from The Irish Times.)

The KLA murdered ethnic Albanians in Kosovo who refused to support them.
Quote- KDOM Daily Report, released by the Bureau of European and Canadian
Affairs, Office of South Central European affairs, US Department of state,
Washington, DC, December 21st 1998: Compiled by EUR/SCE (202-647-4850) from
daily reports of the US element of the Kosovo Diplomatic Observer Mission,
December 21st, 1998: ‘the KLA harass or kidnap anyone who comes to the police, …
KLA representatives had threatened to kill villagers and burn their homes if
they did not join the KLA (a process which has continued since the NATO
bombings) … The KLA harassment has reached such intensity that residents of six
villages in the Stimlje region are ready to flee’.

In order to justify further KLA and NATO attacks on civilians in Kosovo, the
west distorted the truth of the matter in regard to the demographic make up and
disposition of the populations of Kosovo

For example, the western media version –
Ethnic Albanians 90% of Kosovo population and Serbs 10% of Kosovo of a
considerable number of Kosovo citizens of other ethnic heritage. Here are census
figures for Kosovo compiled in 1998 –

Serbs – 221,000 = 16% of Kosovo population not 10%
Montenegrins – 23,000 = 1.5% of population
Yugoslavs – 3,500 = .25% of Kosovo population
Albanians – 917,000 = 66.5% of Kosovo population not 90%
Macedonians – 980 = .05% of population
Muslims – 72,500 = 5.25% of Kosovo population
Romany Gypsy – 97,000 = 7% of Kosovo population
Turkish – 21,000 = 1.5% of Kosovo population
Other and unknown – 23,000 = 2.0% of total population of Kosovo
TOTAL 1998 population of Kosovo = 1,378,980

The Serbs as enemy campaign focuses also on the need to save (as the west would
have it) Kosovo’s Albanian majority – the presumed (as in supposed) next target
of Serb ethnic cleansing. Yet Serbs see Kosovo as the cradle of their culture,
their nation defining defeat at the hands of the Otttoman Turks. They know it
had a Serb majority until Nazi Germany annexed Kosovo to Albania, moved 300,000
Albanians in and expelled 200,000 Serbs’. That quote from the writings of
Professor Carl G. Jacobsen of the Independent Committee on War Crimes in the
Balkans – Ottawa 17th May 1993.

The fascist ‘Ballist Movement’ which had as its aim the secession of Kosovo from
Yugoslavia and its annexation by Albania, was allied to the Nazi occupiers in
the Balkans during WWII. The Ballistas in league with the Nazi foreign
occupiers, the SS Hanzar (purporting to represent people of Muslim background in
Bosnia and Kosovo) and the Nazi state forces of Croatia together at that time
managed to ‘cleanse’ almost the entire population of Serbian and Gypsy people
from Kosovo. In 1998, in rallies in towns in Kosovo and in town and cities
across the Republic of Albania, the US/NATO-sponsored Kosovo Liberation Army
pledged ‘to continue the struggle of the glorious Ballistas leaders Azem and
Shota Galitsa, Shaban Poluzha and Ahmet Delisa.’

The KLA has been well supported not only by the arms and oil barons of the USA
but also by the USA’s supposed Enemy No. one these days, Osama Bin Laden.
The Sunday times 22nd March 1998 – quote – Iranian Revolutionary Guards have
joined forces with a Saudi Millionaire to support the Albanian underground
movement in Kosovo. They hope to turn the region into their main base for
Islamic armed activity in Europe. According to a senior Egyptian security
source, an agreement was signed in Tehran on February 16th (1998) with the Saudi
Osama Bin Laden, who also has links with Afghanistan’s fundamentalist Taliban
militia. Bin Laden, 44, described by the US State Department as ‘one of the most
significant sponsores of Islamic extremist activities’, has begun extending his
operations to Eastern Europe. He has supported Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo, the
source said. Iran is keen to strengthen its presence in the region. Bin Laden’s
activities appear to have been concentrated so far mainly in the Bosnian town of
Zenica. Five Egyptian members of the al-Gamaa al-Islamiya movement, which killed
58 in Luxor last November, have now moved to Kosovo.’ (Could it be that many of
these little heard of so-called Islamic terrorists to be nothing other than CIA
funded organisations purporting to be supportive of Muslim populations
wheresoever, yet in truth are simply fanatic anti socialist operatives and have
absolutely no concern for the welfare of Muslim people where ever they may
reside - ED).

On March 7th 2002, Slobodan Milosevic, during the course of the prosecution
trial in the Hague, produced an FBI document dated 18th December 2001 which
states: ‘Al Qaeda Islamic fighters in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Chechnya and in
Kosovo’.

From the book ‘The Other side of the Story’ re ‘ethnic cleansing’ in Kosovo
writes – quote – Before the onset of the anti-Serb media campaign, the Western
press routinely reported on the terror campaign against Serbs in
Kosovo-Metohija. In a 1982 New York Times article, an ethnic Albanian official
in Kosovo explains the strategy of the terrorists: ‘’ The (Albanian)
nationalists have a two-point platform,’’ according to Becir Hoti, an executive
secretary of the Communist Party of Kosovo, ‘’first to establish what they call
an ethnically clean Albanian republic in Kosovo and then the merger of Kosovo
with Albania to form a greater Albania.’’ (New York Times 12th July 1982).

As has been recorded in UN reports and in reports by British and other foreign
KFOR military personnel in the region, that the KLA is initially a multi
national mercenary force supported by Bosnian and Croatian separatist forces –
veterans of the war for independence for Croatia and Bosnia.
In the book ‘A Witness to the Kosovo War: Scott Taylor’s Inat (Esprit de Corps
Books, 2000) – The reviewer Nebojsa Malic writes – ‘A former soldier and
currently military analyst, publisher and war reporter, Taylor covered Canadian
peacekeepers in the former Yugoslavia beginning 1992, documenting their gallant
conduct in face of atrocities and crass propaganda manipulations executed by
both the local belligerents and outside powers. In 1998, he published Tested
Mettle, which documented the Canadian peacekeepers’ bitter 1993 firefight with
Croatian forces cleansing the Medak pocket in Bosnia. He mentions this in the
first chapter of Inat, by way of background, noting that one Croatian commander
in the Medak operation was a Kosovo Albanian named Agim Ceku.
Six years later, Taylor set out for Serbia, which had been under attack by NATO
(including Canadian) bombers supporting Agim Cedu’s ‘Kosovo Liberation army’
for two months. Arriving on May 24, 1999, he witnessed the last two weeks of the
air war, and the occupation of Kosovo that followed.’ (Ends quote from Nebojsa’s
review of Taylor’s book).

Whilst on the subject of populations of people being forced from their homes
even from their own countries by illegal, premature declarations by foreign
orchestrators of warfare, to include border rearrangement such as has been the
case for all of the peoples of former Yugoslavia –

This is what the former President of Macedonia, Kiro Gligorov said in an
interview with Makfax News Agency in Skopje on 30th April 2004 – ‘Provided that
border redrawing ideas were put in motion, next on the agenda will be the idea
on annexation of western Macedonia and souther Serbia to Kosovo as an
independent state. In such case, some of the Albanian political leaders in
Macedonia hinted at a possibility for Skopje to become a capital of the
so-called Greater Kosovo.’ Kiro Gligorov cautioned that eventual independence of
Kosovo could trigger a bitter aftermath on the region given the possibility of
further shifting of borders of the countries of the old Yugoslav federation.

The other important fact which must be considered when speaking of the ethnic
make up of Kosovo is that from the time of the end of WWII, people from Albania
were free to move in to Kosovo – the borders were open - they did not register
as residents of the region yet they were granted full citizens rights. Over the
decades, the Yugoslav state financed the establishment of Albanian universities
and other cultural centres for the Albanian population. Kosovo Albanians were
free to establish and operate their own broadcasting services and so on …

KLA ATTACKS FROM 1998 –

1998 summary of KLA attacks against Serbian, Muslim, Roma and ethnic Albanian
people in Kosovo who refused to support the KLA and who tried to flee KLA
strongholds in Kosovo: 2,019 KLA attacks in which 199 civilians and 128
policemen were killed. The KLA launched 1,884 operations wounding 561 people.
The civilian death toll at the hands of the KLA in 1998 in Kosovo = 46 Serbs, 77
ethnic Albanians, 6 Romanies, 2 Muslims and 42 unidentified persons. 292 had
been abducted.

Serbs driven from Pristina –
Pristina – ‘Thugs’ have rid the Kosovo capital of Pristina of virtually all its
Serbian minority, the UN refugee agency UNHCR said yesterday in its strongest
condemnation yet of the reverse ethnic cleansing that has hit the province.
Agency spokesman Mr Ron Redmond said there were now only an estimated
1,000-2,000 Serbs left in Pristina. That compares with an estimated population
of about 40,000 before the NATO-Yugoslavia conflict, according to Serbian media,
he said, and 27,000 according to a 1991 census – (The Irish Times 12.8.1999 and
AFP)

(NOTE: Western press state ‘reverse’ethnic cleansing and as usual always
downplay the number of Serb victims. This was not a case of ‘reverse’ ethnic
cleansing – it was a case of straightforward ethnic cleansing as the Serbs had
not cleansed anyone from from Pristina – In addition, two days prior to this
report, Paul Cullen in The Irish Times (10.8.1999) reported ‘Between 1966 and
1989 an estimated 130,000 Serbs left Kosovo because of harassment and
discrimination by the Albanian majority. More than 160,000 Kosovan Serbs fled
their homelands in 1998/99’.)

By the end of 1999, as a result of KLA attacks and NATO bombing, the demography
of Kosovo had changed again to become almost purely ethnic Albanian.

Once the KLA had established full control of Kosovo a disturbing picture of NATO
and the KLA’s actions surfaced, revealing an unfolding nightmare scenario for
non-KLA supporters be they Serbian, ethnic Albanian, Roma, Muslim or people from
any of the many other ethnic groups in the province.

‘Since June 18th 2003 the KLA and their Albanian supporters have terrorised the
Kosovo Roma in an ethnic cleansing operation that has destroyed more than 20,000
Roma homes. Despite the UN’s declaration of preparing a multi-ethnic society and
the claim of NATO and KFOR to protect everyone, the results only point to a
policy of genocide … genocide of the Roma and Hashkaiya today in Kosovo.’ Ends
quote from the Roma News Network 1st December 1999.

‘The expulsion and terrorising of 240,000 Serbs and other minorities from Kosovo
since NATO took charge is of little media interest. The society for endangered
people say 90,000 Gypsies have been forced to flee an ethnic cleansing campaign
conducted on a grand scale by the Kosovo Liberation Army. But who cares about
Gypsies, let alone the demonised Serbs?’ Quote - John Pilger New Statesman 15th
November 1999.

KOSOVO MARCH 2004 –

On 17th and 18th March this year, ethnic Albanians carried out a concerted and
orchestrated ethnic cleansing of Serbs and people from other minorities in
Kosovo.

As per usual, the Serbian population was blamed by the many Western media
outlets as initiators of the violence and that the violence had started after
several Albanian children drowned, allegedly because they were running from a
group of, you guessed it, Serbians. However the press secretary of the UN
civilian mission in Kosovo, Derek Chappell, refuted these allegations. Moreover,
on the 18th March one child was found. According to Mr Chappell, the child did
not mention being chased by Serbs.(Refer further to interview with Maj-Gen Lewis
MacKenzie, now retired, former Commander UN troops during the Bosnian war in
1992).

Chris Jennings - The Scotsman Newspaper – 2nd September 2004 – Wrote –
‘On 17th and 18th March this year, after months of comparative peace, a
concerted and orchestrated Albanian ethnic cleansing operation went into action
in Kosovo, targeting Serbs and other ethnic minorities. It took NATO and the UN
by surprise.

19 Serbs and Albanians were killed, some 900 wounded, and 550 Serb and minority
homes burnt along with 27 Serbian Orthodox churches and monasteries, as an
estimated 50,000 Albanians went on a rampage in the Province. The NATO-led
force, known as KFORE, ‘failed catastrophically’ to protect ethnic minorities,
said Human Rights Watch (which egged on the 1999 war and all that has followed)
in a report released this June. UNMIK carried out a series of performance
assessments shortly after the violence, but so bad was the leadership and
tactical co-ordination of the mission during the rioting that in late May a 5
man internal affairs team arrived from New York headquarters to report back
directly to Jean-Marie Guehenno, under-secretary-general for UN peacekeeping
operations.’ (Ends Jennings quote)

Over 100 Orthodox churches have been destroyed in Kosovo by KLA supporters in
the past 5 years. As per UN records.(JK)

Diana Johnstone in her article ‘Clinton’s ‘Good War’ – 26 June 2004 -Quote -
‘Empowered by their official status as unique victims of Serb iniquity, the
Albanians of Kosovo – and especially the youth, raised on a decade of
nationalist myth – can give free rein to their cultivated hatred of the Serbs.
Armed Albanian nationalists proceeded to drive the Serbian and Gypsy populations
out of Kosovo. Those remaining do not dare venture out of their ghettos.
Albanians willing to live with the Serbs risk being murdered.’

Strasbourg – The level of human rights in Kosovo is a long way below European
standards, the province’s ombudsman, Marek Antoni Nowicki told Srna on 21st
September (2004). He described the exodus of Serbs as being particularly obvious
in mixed Serb and Albanian environments and in villages on the Albanian border,
saying that this had elements of ethnic cleansing.

National Post Tuesday, April 6, 2004
We bombed the wrong side?
By Lewis MacKenzie

Five years ago our television screens were dominated by pictures of
Kosovo-Albanian refugees escaping across Kosovo's borders to the
sanctuaries of Macedonia and Albania. Shrill reports indicated that Slobodan
Milosevic's security forces were conducting a campaign of genocide and that at
least

100,000 Kosovo-Albanians had been exterminated and buried in mass graves
throughout the Serbian province. NATO sprung into action and, in spite of
the fact no member nation of the alliance was threatened, commenced bombing
not only Kosovo, but the infrastructure and population of Serbia itself --
without the authorizing United Nations resolution so revered by Canadian
leadership, past and present.

Those of us who warned that the West was being sucked in on the side of an
extremist, militant, Kosovo-Albanian independence movement were dismissed as
appeasers. The fact that the lead organization spearheading the fight
for independence, the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), was universally designated
a terrorist organization and known to be receiving support from Osama bin
Laden's al-Qaeda was conveniently ignored.

The recent dearth of news in the North American media regarding the increase
in violence in Kosovo compared to the comprehensive coverage in the European
press strongly suggests that we Canadians don't like to admit it when we are
wrong. On the contrary, selected news clips on this side of the ocean continue
to reinforce the popular spin that those dastardly Serbs are at it again.

A case in point was the latest crisis that exploded on March 15. The media
reported that four Albanian boys had been chased into the river Ibar in
Mitrovica by at least two Serbs and a dog (the dog's ethnic affiliation was
not reported). Three of the boys drowned and one escaped to the other side.
Immediately, thousands of Albanians mobilized and concentrated in the
area of the divided city. Attacks on Serbs took place throughout the province
resulting in an estimated 30 killed and 600 wounded. Thirty Serbian
Christian Orthodox churches and monasteries were destroyed, more than 300
homes were burnt to the ground and six Serbian villages cleansed of
their occupants. One hundred and fifty international peacekeepers were
injured.

Totally ignored in North America were the numerous statements from
impartial sources that said there was no incident between the Serbs, the dog
and the Albanian boys. NATO Police spokesman Derek Chappell stated on March 16
that it was "definitely not true" that the boys had been chased into the
river by Serbs. Chappell went on to say that the surviving boy had told his
parents that they had entered the river alone and that three of his friends had
been swept away by the current. Admiral Gregory Johnson, the overall NATO
commander, further stated that the ensuing clashes were "orchestrated
and well-planned ethnic cleansing" by the Kosovo-Albanians. Those Serbs
forced to leave joined the 200,000 who had been cleansed from the province
since NATO's "humanitarian" bombing in 1999. The '"cleansees" have become very
effective "cleansers."

In the same week a number of individuals posing as Serbs ambushed and
killed a UN policeman and his local police partner. During the firefight one
of them was wounded which caused an immediate switch from Serbian to
Albanian as he screamed, "I've been hit"! The UN pursued the attackers and
Tracked them to an Albanian-run farm where they discovered weapons and the
Wounded Albanian who had died from his wounds. Four Albanians were arrested.
Once again, the ambush had been reported in the United States but not the
follow-up which clearly indicated yet another orchestrated provocation
by the Albanian terrorists.

Kosovo is administered by the UN, the very organization many Canadians
have indicated they would like to see take over from the United States in
Iraq.

The fact the UN cannot order its civilian employees to go or stay
anywhere they have to volunteer -- combined with recent history that saw the
UN abandon Iraq after a single brutal attack on their compound in Baghdad
And the reality that Kosovo, under the organization's administration, is a
basket case, disqualifies it from consideration for such a role.
Since the NATO/UN intervention in 1999, Kosovo has become the crime
capital of Europe. The sex slave trade is flourishing. The province has become
an invaluable transit point for drugs en route to Europe and North America.
Ironically, the majority of the drugs come from another state "liberated"
by the West, Afghanistan. Members of the demobilized, but not eliminated,
KLA are intimately involved in organized crime and the government. The UN
police arrest a small percentage of those involved in criminal activities and
turn them over to a judiciary with a revolving door that responds to bribes
and coercion.

The objective of the Albanians is to purge all non-Albanians, including
the international community's representatives, from Kosovo and ultimately
link up with mother Albania thereby achieving the goal of "Greater Albania."
The campaign started with their attacks on Serbian security forces in the
early 1990s and they were successful in turning Milosevic's heavy-handed
response into world wide sympathy for their cause. There was no genocide as
claimed by the West -- the 100,000 allegedly buried in mass graves turned out
to be around 2,000, of all ethnic origins, including those killed in combat
during the war itself.

The Kosovo-Albanians have played us like a Stradivarius. We have
subsidized and indirectly supported their violent campaign for an ethnically
pure and independent Kosovo. We have never blamed them for being the
perpetrators of the violence in the early '90s and we continue to portray them
as the designated victim today in spite of evidence to the contrary. When they
achieve independence with the help of our tax dollars combined with
those of bin Laden and al-Qaeda, just consider the message of encouragement this
sends to other terrorist-supported independence movements around the world.
Funny how we just keep digging the hole deeper!

NATO WAR CRIMINALS IN THE BALKANS SCENARIO –
1994 – 1995 - 1999
Attached is a letter to Vanity Fair Magazine from Peter J. Children. The letter
confirms that US troops and US fighter pilots were abused for Clinton’s
political ambitions. They were fully aware that the Serbs did not carry out the
horrendous bombings of Markale Market in Sarajevo in 1994 and 1995. The bombings
became a pretext for NATO attacks against Serb communities in Bosnia yet the
NATO pilots who carried out the bombing raids knew, as already mentioned, that
the Serbs were not responsible for the Markale atrocities.

(Refer attached article ‘O’Grady Had Advanced Intelligence from CIA of Markale
Market Massacre Committed by Muslims’ by P Children quoting interview with NATO
pilot Captain Scott O’Grady –O’Grady knew the Serbs were innocent of this crime
– yet he went ahead and dropped his deadly bombs.)

Later analysis of the crater and debris prove that the bomb which killed the
people in the market was dropped off a roof by Alija Izetbegovic’s forces, which
NATO and UN authorities knew at the time, according to New York Times Balkans
bureau chief David Binder in a report in The Nation magazine on October 2, 1995.
On 29th August 1995, NATO war planes backed by British, French, US and Bosnian
Muslim ground troops began a week long series of attacks on Serbian communities
in Bosnia. NATO launched over 4,000 bombing raid against the Bosnian Serbs in
that time. Many people died in these attacks. Hospitals, schools, homes, bridges
and civilian vital services were deliberately targeted and destroyed. This NATO
aggression was titled ‘Operation Deliberate Force’. NATO’s use of radioactive
ammunition has ruined farmlands and people continue to die from the effects of
this ammunition. ‘NATO dropped more bombs on Bosnian Serb communities in August
and September 1995 than the Germans did on London during World War II’. (Diaria
de Noticias Lisbon September 1995).

March 24th 1999, NATO begins 78 days of air strikes against Yugoslavia.
In the first 30 days of NATO attacks on Yugoslavia, NATO destroyed 25 bridges,
16 major railway stations, 6 major roads, 7 airports, tens of thousands of
factories, offices, residential buildings, 55 major industrial complexes, 18 oil
refineries and dumps, 5 major agricultural complexes, 300 ha of forests, 21
hospitals, over 200 schools and colleges, 8 power plants, 23 TV and radio
transmitters, 18 medieval monasteries (April 4th NATO bombs the Monastery of
Holy Mother and the Monastery of St Nicholas in Kursumlija – both built in the
12th century).

2 million people without heating, 500,000 left jobless and 2 million left
without any income. Having destroyed Yugoslavia’s vital services plants,
factories etc, Western corporations immediately began vying to win
reconstruction contracts. NATO again used depleted uranium weapons and cluster
bombs against the peoples of Yugoslavia. The fall out from the depleted uranium
has totally ruined vast areas of vital agricultural lands across Kosovo and
Serbia generally.

U.S./NATO Violating a Slew of International Laws in the Balkans.

In an effort to justify NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, the media claimed
that, for one, the Serbs were forcing ethnic Albanians from Kosovo in massive
numbers (Numbers varied from one report to another.)

Enclosed is an article titled ‘Operation Horseshoe: Kosovo Forgery Revealed’
compiled by The Rockford Institute on 4th April 2000. The article proves that
NATO bombing combined with attacks by NATO ground forces (The Kosovo Liberation
Army) were responsible for the upheaval of people from all ethnic backgrounds
across Kosovo. German Government documents published in the German daily Junge
Welt on April 24th 1999 also provide details regards this issue and of KLA/NATO
culpability rather than Serb culpability regards population upheavals in Kosovo.

In his article ‘The Media and Their Atrocities’ and published in the IAC book ‘
Hidden Agenda …’ Michael Parenti writes of the upheaval of people as a direct
result of NATO bombings in 1999 – ‘During the bombings, an estimated 70,000 to
100,000 Serbian residents of Kosovo took flight (mostly north but some to the
south), as did thousands of Roma and other.(Washington Post June 6th 1999). Were
the Serbs ethnically cleansing themselves? Or were these people not fleeing the
NATO bombing and the ground war? Yet, the refugee tide caused by the bombing was
repeatedly used by the US war makers as justification for the bombing, a
pressure put on Milosevic to allow ‘the safe return of ethnic Albanian
refugees.’(Robert Burns Associated Press 22nd April 1999).

People from all ethnic backgrounds were fleeing NATO aerial bombing raids and
KLA (NATO grounds forces) attacks.

Serbian attacks on KLA strongholds or the forced expulsion of Albanian villagers
were described as ‘genocide’.But experts in surveillance photography and wartime
propaganda charged NATO with running a ‘propaganda campaign’ on Kosovo that
lacked any supporting evidence. State Department reports of mass graves and of
100,000 to 500,000 missing Albanian men ‘are just ludicrous,’ according to these
independent critics.(Charles Radin and Louise Palmer, ‘Experts Voice Doubts on
claims of Genocide: Little Evidence for NATO Assertions.’ San Francisco
Chronicle, April 22, 1999). Radin and Palmer’s findings were ignored by the
major networks and other national media.’ Ends quotes from Michael Parenti’s
article.

‘Mass Graves’ of Kosovo –

‘I was standing there when the forensic teams were telling Louise Arbour there
were no 200,000 bodies and she didn’t want to know.’ - ‘This was a massacre
that never happened.’ (Read full article ‘Weak Case Against Milosevic Has Hague

‘Cook accused of misleading public on Kosovo Massacres’ by Nicholas Rufford on
former UK Foreign Secretary Robin Cook’s misleading statements about number of
ethnic Albanian deaths in Kosovo – (The Sunday Times 31st October 1999).

Ian Johnson writes in his article ‘The New World Order and the Destruction of
Yugoslavia’ – May 2003 – (Parts 1, 2 and 3 now posted on www.free-slobo-uk.org –
all excellent articles not to be missed)
Only after the 3 month bombing campaign, which left NATO and the fascist Kosovo
Liberation Army in control of Kosovo, did segments of the true situation
regarding the genocide and ethnic cleansing propaganda begin to emerge.

‘The scale on which the public was misled about the atrocities … and not just
NATO’s bombing successes’ … threatens to be mind-boggling.’ (Andrew Alexander
Daily Mail 5th November 1999).

I called my people together and said ‘we’re finished here’. I informed my
government and told them the real situation. We have become part of a semantic
pirouette by the war propaganda machine, because we did not find one … not one …
mass grave’’. (Emilio Perez Pujol Head of the Spanish Forensic Team Attached to
the International Criminal Tribunal. 12th October 1999).
(Refer last section of this paper under heading KLA ATTACKS FROM 1998 – for
details on expulsions and killing by the KLA of Serbs and ethnic Albanians and
all other non-KLA supporters.)

Secondly, bodies of men found in the Kosovo village of Racak were said to have
been bodies of ethnic Albanian men executed by the Serbs. This too was a hoax.
‘The Finnish forensic experts in a final report on the circumstances of the
deaths of some 40 people in Racak found no evidence of a massacre by Serb
security forces.’ (Deutsche Presse-Agentur 17th January 2001). Also refer item
enclosed titled ‘Racak, rationale for 1999 Balkans war’. Another point to keep
in mind regards Racak is that the entire military operation on the part of the
Serbian forces in and around Racak on the date the so-called ‘Racak massacre’
was said to have taken place, was monitored by several world media teams such
as the French daily Le Figaro, Associated Press, British TV news and by
monitoring organisations such as the UN Kosovo Verification Mission and the
Organisation for Security and Co operation in Europe.

The article – The Racak ‘Massacre’: Casus Belli for NATO by Doris Pumphrey and
George Pumphrey and published in the International Action Center book ‘Hidden
Agenda – U.S./NATO Takeover of Yugoslavia (www.iacenter.org).

The third pretext used by the U.S.A. for NATO aggression against Yugoslavia
centred on the outcome of the ‘peace conference’ in Rambouillet in France. ‘ The
U.S. draws up a document and presents it to the KLA and the Yugoslav Government.
There are no negotiations. Both sides are told to ‘take it or leave it.’ The
document requires Yugoslav withdrawal from Kosovo, the introduction of a NATO
occupying force with total powers, and a plebiscite to decide on independence
for Kosovo. Not reported in the media at the time is that the document also
gives NATO forces the right to occupy all of Yugoslavia – not just Kosovo.
Members of the U.S. negotiating teambragged that they intentionally set the
bar too high for Milosevic to accept.’
(Quote from the International Action Center analysis on Rambouillet book
‘Hidden Agenda’ – Web Site above).

Of the delegations to Rambouillet – The Albanian (KLA) side comprised purely
Albanians. Of the other 9 ethnic groups which make up the population of Kosovo,
not a solitary representative from non Albanian communities was invited to
attend or to participate in the Rambouillet talks by the US/NATO backed Albanian
leaders. By contrast, all of the many ethnic groups which make up the population
of Kosovo and Yugoslavia and who are represented in the multi ethnic government
of Serbia and Yugoslavia were there as full participants in what the media
called, the '‘Serb'’delegates to Rambouillet. In fact only 3 of the 12 delegates
representing the '‘Serb’ side were of Serbian ethnicity.
(So much for the media propaganda line of ‘Serb dominance’ in Yugoslavia.)

Neither the ‘Serbs’ nor the Albanians signed the ‘Agreement’ in its original
form, yet NATO used the ‘Serb’ demands for changes to the ‘Agreement’ as another
rationale for NATO attacks against Yugoslavia in 1999. JK

WHAT FUTURE FOR KOSOVO –

In his article ‘Kosovo Five Years Later: Is intervention better than cure?’
Z Magazine – May 2004, Aiden Hehir wrote – quote – ‘The intervention in Kosovo
illustrates that military victory is less important to future stability than a
coherent post –conflict Administration, yet the crises in both Afghanistan and
Iraq show that this lesson has not been learned. By siding with the Albanian
community and intervening on their behalf, to the extent of cooperating with the
KLA whose expressed aim is an ethnically pure Kosovo, the international
community accentuated the divisions in Kosovo, hardening Serbian hearts to the
Albanian’s cause, and imbuing the Albanians with a sense of righteous
infallibility. The current efforts to institutionalise the existing impermanence
will continue to prove futile unless the oppression of the minority population
is stopped and a coherent plan for the final status of Kosovo is implemented.’
Aidan Hehir lectures on Comparative European Politics with the Department of
Politics and Public Administration at the University of Limerick (Ireland) and
has spent the last four years researching NATO’s 1999 military intervention in
Kosovo.

UNMIK stipulated in December 2003 that no examination of Kosovo’s final status
would take place until certain political and humanitarian standards were
reached, suggesting 2006 as the earliest date. UNMIK thus looks likely to
emulate the UN administration in Bosnia that has now run 8 years over its
original remit with few signs of a resolution of the underlying problems.

REFUGEES -

‘The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia currently has the largest refugee and
displaced population in Europe. Even before the Kosovo crisis, Yugoslavia had
the largest number of refugees following the conflicts in Bosnia and Croatia:
There were 500,000 identified refugees. The Kosovo crisis then saw a further
230,000 people displaced into Serbia, which receives very little media attention
or funding, and whose civilian population has suffered hugely from the effects
of sanctions and recent armed conflicts.’ Sam Younger, Director General British
Red Cross 1st December 1999.

As Ian Johnson wrote in his article ‘The New World Order and the Destruction of
Yugoslavia’, May 2003 –‘So despite suffering from almost ten years of sanctions
and trying to recover from a three month bombing blitz, it was the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia and the government of Slobodan Milosevic that took in
three quarters of a million refugees from Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo and those
refugees comprised twenty-six different ethnic groups. Yet it was Yugoslavia and
the Serbs that were, and still are, believed to be responsible for acts of
genocide and ethnic cleansing. Indeed, in the New World Order the truth is
firmly stood on its head, and the majority of the political left in Britain are
only too eager to accept it’. Ends quote. And thank you to Ian for compiling
many of the facts on ethnic cleansing in Kosovo.

40,000 Albanian people reside in Belgrade as loyal citizens of Serbia.

Sir Geoffrey Wasteneys, Ottawa, Canada writing on the subject of the Albanian
American Civic League, 10th April 2004 in respect of refugees in Serbia stated
–‘Today Serbia with an infrastructure virtually destroyed by NATO bombing has to
provide for over 900,000 refugees. It is noteworthy that these include Albanians
and Serbs and Gypsies from Kosovo, Croats from Bosnia, at least 5,000 Slovenes
and others of non Serb ethnicity.’

THE SERBS WERE BLAMED FOR EVERY ACT OF ETHNIC CLEANSING IN THE
BALKANS TO INCLUDE IN BOSNIA -

But – In 1991 the civilian census of Population for Sarajevo alone read –
Muslims 260,000 = 49%, Serbs 160,000 = 30%, Croatians 35,000 = 6% of population.
January 1998 civilian register for Sarajevo read –
Muslims = 95% of population, Serbs = 3%, Croats = 2%of population in that city.
Census taken in other centres show same trend. For example, reports show some
50,000 Muslim people cleansed from Mostar by Croat forces in 1993. UN figures
show Serb people in Mostar number 30,000 in early 1993. After cleansing by Croat
forces their numbers were reduced to around 300 people. 1.2.1993 the Red Cross
of Serbia registered 575,000 mainly Serb refugees from Bosnia, Krajina and
Kosovo in republic of Serbia. Hundreds of thousands more Serb refugees
registered abroad. By 1996, the Red Cross of Serbia had registered over 800,000
Serb refugees in Serbia from ex Yugoslavia. 70,000 Bosnian Muslim refugees
registered in Serbia for sanctuary.

THE SREBRENICA HOAX –
The media in the West stated constantly that the Serbs had executed many Muslim
men in or around Srebrenica in 1995 – What really happened -
The Serbs and the Muslim population of Srebrenica were set up by the US funded,
armed and trained Bosnian so-called Muslim Government regards the Srebrenica
scenario in Bosnia in 1995. Muslim leaders in Srebrenica said ‘Alija
Izetbegovic, head of the Bosnian Muslim Government in Sarajevo and his ruling
elite purposely played with the lives of Srebrenica Muslims – Why were these
lives sacrifiiced?’

In the ‘election’ staged after the Dayton ‘peace negotiation’ 3,010 of the
‘missing’ Muslims from Srebrenica turn out to vote!
Western experts dig far and wide in desperate attempt to find a cover for ‘mass
murder’ story. The activity only proves Srebrenica hoax.
The official Dutch inquiry into the 1995 Srebrenica ‘massacre,’ released in
April 2002, contains one of the most sensational reports on Western intelligence
ever published. Officials have been staggered by its findings and Dutch
government has resigned ……

Further to revealing the truth as to what happened at Srebrenica in 1995, the UN
documented in fine details as to how the Serb forces in the area at the time
when they were accused of killing thousands of Srebrenica Muslims, actually
escorted many Muslim civilians to safety away from the dangerous war zone – The
UN supplied the fuel to allow such a rescue by the Serbs of the Muslim people of
Srebrenica.

The following are quotes from letter to US Ambassador in Belgrade, Serbia
reference ‘to Srebrenica from Professor Raymond Kent, Berkeley University ,
California. USA:

‘To begin, I enclose a translation of a letter sent to you by a Belgrade-based
attorney-at-law, Veljko Guberina, on 27th September last. In it, he touches upon
two subjects which are of major interest to the Serb People but which transcend,
by far, the local dimension. One is a demand imposed on Belgrade by our
Government to “co operate” with the International Criminal Tribunal for
(ex-)Yugoslavia. More precisely, this is understood to mean the arrest and
delivery of General Vladko Mladic to the Hague. The principal charge against him
is a Command implication in the alleged genocide of Bosnian Muslims at
Srebrenica. Attorney Guberina merely touches upon this matter following an
interview that you had granted recently to “Politika,” leading Belgrade
newspaper. You underlined the “iron will” in Washington to see its demand
honored and adhered to.

My only comment at this time about Mladic’s alleged crime of “genocide” is that
it cannot be sustained under closer scrutiny. One basic fact stands out in this
case. He had ordered the busing out of Srebrenica all of the Muslim women and
children. All of them reached safely the Bosnian Muslim stronghold of Tuzla.
Whatever happened at Srebrenica it was thus not “genocide.” It should be added
that the scarce fuel for the buses was donated by the U.N. Just like Milosevic
(who is in a Hague jail) Mladic has been already tried and convicted through the
media on a charge which would not pass muster in any established court adhering
to the Anglo-Saxon Common Law. Its pivotal principle requires that a person be
deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. . The burden of proof
rests upon the accuser, not the media. Hence, I would suggest that our will
should not be cast in iron.’

The Bosnian Government deliberately worsened the suffering of Muslim refugees -
‘The Bosnian government deliberately worsened the suffering of the Muslim
refugees fleeing Srebrenica to put pressure on the international community,
according to documents made available to the Daily Telegraph, writes Tim Butcher
in Tuzla.

The papers include instructions to the UN from the government of Alija
Izetbegovic in Sarajevo that the refugees must be taken in their thousands to a
single location rather than being spread around numerous available centres.
The resulting TV pictures and media reports of chaos among aid workers
overwhelmed when the refugees arrived at the UN base at Tuzla were intended to
bring about a decisive international response.’ (©) Daily Telegraph, London

Cleansing of Srebrenica Region –
The majority of the world’s population may never have heard the word Srebrenica
until the Western media forces in 1995 in their support for the Bosnian Muslim
government in Sarajevo came up with a story of an alleged massacre of Muslims by
Serbs in Srebrenica.

But, what was happening in and around Srebrenica prior to 1995?
‘Serb inhabitants were exiled from Srebrenica on May 8th, 1992, and many of
them were killed. Two days earlier 72 Serb villages in Srebrenica neighbourhood
were burned down and all their Serb inhabitants killed. Through the burned Serb
villages Muslim troops have reached Drina river on October 5, 1992 with aim to
cut the main communications with Serbia. On January 16, 1993 the Muslim
offensive has started under the command of Naser Oric against the still remained
Serb villages: Skelane, Cosici and Kruscic. Refer UN reports.

During the period when Muslim forces under Naser Oric controlled Srebrenica they
killed some 3,200 Serbian civilians in the area. Naser Oric went public at that
time, proudly displaying a video of Serbian civilians his troops had mutilated.
There were burning houses, dead bodies, severed heads, and people fleeing. Oric
grinned throughout admiring his handiwork. ‘We ambushed them,’ he said when a
number of dead Serbs appeared on the screen. The next sequence of dead bodies
had been done in by explosives: ‘We launched those guys to the moon,’ he
boasted. (According to the Tribunal, forensic scientists have discovered 1,668
bodies ‘in and around the Srebrenica area’ so far).’

From the same report - ‘The three Dutch military historians and Ambassador
Bissett recalled that Serbian General Ratko Mladic has protested the misuse of
the so called ‘safe’ Srebrenica was supposed to be demilitarised but this did
not stop Mr Oric’s soldiers raiding nearby Serb villages.

Designation of Crime: Wilful Killing of Civilians –
Time and Place: 7 May 1992, the village of Osmace, Municipality of Srebrenica.
Brief description: A truch ferrying a group of Serbs from Cicevac to Skelane was
ambushed on the Srebrenica-Skelani road. This was the first collective massacre
of Serbs from this municipality and the first ambush. The following persons were
killed
- Milojka Mitrovic 1953, Radosav Stepanovic 1956, Nebojsa Coric 1966, Zoran
Vukosavijevic 1970, Simo Tanasijevic 1952, Milovoje Ilic 1962, Danilo Petrovic
1961. The truck was driven by Nebojsa Coric who was killed on that occasion.
- Indication Concerning Perpetrator(s): The ambush was set by Muslims from the
villages Osatici and Osmace and the direct participant mentioned is Ramo, alias
‘Hijebara’, who personally killed Simo Tanasijevic. The massacre and ambush were
organised at the orders of Naser Oric.
- Evidence: Documents of Milivoje Ivanisevic, associate of the Committee
Compiling Data on crimes against Humanity and International Law.

‘Just considering here Bosnia and Croatia, on May 24, 1993, the Yugoslav
government submitted a letter the UN on ‘War Crimes and Crimes and Genocide in
Eastern Bosnia .. Committed Against the Serb Population from April 1992 to April
1993.’ This document describes the ‘almost complete ethnic cleansing of Serbs’
from Srebrenica before the autumn of 1992, and lists 12 settlements and 39
villages destroyed and burnt down by Bosnian Muslim forces, with about 1,200
killed and between 2,800 and 3,200 injured. The almost complete ethnic cleansing
of Serbs from Srebrenica described in this document is supported by the monthly
reports of the UN High Commission for Refugees, which also show that all the
so-called ‘safe areas’ (i.e., rendered safe for Bosnian Muslims) had been
substantially cleansed of Serbs before July 1995. Half of the Serb population of
the overall area around Srebrenica had been driven out by this time. This report
includes scores of affidavits from Serb victims, who were often able to name the
Bosnian Muslims who attacked them.

An even more extensive document produced by the Serbian Council Information
Center was titled, ‘Persecution of Serbs and Ethnic Cleansing in Croatia
1991-1998’.

July 17th 1995 – The US media reports an alleged massacre (of Muslims by Serbs
allegedly) as Izetbegovic’s troops pull out of Srebrenica in Bosnia. UN
investigating teams report a year later that they could not find a single
eyewitness to any atrocity, (allegedly committed by Serb of Muslims) even though
they interviewed hundreds of Muslims in Srebrenica and in Tuzla, where the
majority of refugees were taken. Based on charges of a massacre allegedly by
Serbs, European countries stop efforts to maintain peacekeepers under UN flag.
U.S./NATO military involvement is now accepted.

Quote from letter to the BBC
In responding to your report: “Clinton to Open Srebrenica Memorial”
“Killers always come back to the scene of their crime”. So is the case of the
former US president Bill Clinton. It is under his command and his approval that
unspeakable crimes of the 20th century were allowed to happen and some of them
are hidden from the world and justice. It is with his knowledge and the
knowledge of his generals. MPRI generals and his secretary of State, Albright
that Muslim mujahedeens used un protected “safe haven” to wage terror on Serb
villages surrounding Srebrenica.

Judging by Mr Clinton’s dishonesty and distorted way of applying justice I am
sure that he would not remember Naser Oric. Muslim general, turned war criminal,
responsible for killing over 640 Serbs in villages that surrounded Srebrenica!
Oric used the “safe haven” of Srebrenica as a military base to destroy 42
Serbian villages in the year prior to Srebrenica’s fall.

UN SANCTIONS ALSO LOCKED AND SUBSEQUENTLY DESTROYED THE YUGOSLAV
ECONOMY. AND TO REPEAT, MILOSEVIC DID NOT BECOME PRESDIENT OF
YUGOSLAVIA UNTIL 1997 – SO HOW DID HE MANAGE ALL THIS – MAYBE HE IS
A MAGICIAN ….

IT SHOULD BE SAID HERE THAT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE, POSSIBLY AS MANY
AS 20,000 PEOPLE DIED AS A DIRECT RESULT ON UN SANCTIONS ON YUGOSLAVIA.
THIS IS SURELY A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.

MILOSEVIC CORRUPT – WHAT OF RECORD ON CORRUPTION OF OTHER
LEADERS IN THE BALKANS SCENARIO?

As mentioned, in January 1992, Alija Izetbegovic, US appointed leader of the
Bosnian Muslims and darling of world leaders and non-governmental organisations
alike to include many anti war activists, should have handed over the Presidency
to the Serb leader Radovan Karadzic – Under the new Bosnia law, the Presidency
was to revolve each year. Since then, Alija Izetbegovic therefore held the
position fraudulently but then he was no stranger to fraud. The Turkish daily
newspaper Sabah, 11th January 1995 called Izetbegovic to account for the sum of
$350 MILLION deposited to a Swiss (Union) bank account on behalf of the
Izetbegovic regime. Sabah stated that Izetbegovic and his family had been
granted gold American Express credit cards. The same arrangement was effected
for one of his Ministers, Haris Silajdzic. And what, Sabah asked, happened to
some $20 MILLION donated by Norwegian citizens to provide relief aid to Bosnian
civilians –

Ivor Key in The Express 18.8.1999 wrote: ‘The political leaders in Bosnia have
pocketed more than 650 MILLION POUNDS in aid which was given to rebuild their
country. Bosnia’s President Alija Izetbegovic and other Muslim leaders concede
that corruption exists but deny that it has occurred in official circles.

Western diplomats say Izetbegovic’s son Bakir is now one of the wealthiest men
in the country. He controls an organisation which determines the occupancy
rights of 80,000 publicly-owned apartments in Sarajevo. The apartments, many of
which belonged to Serbs or Croats before the war, have been given to members of
the governing Muslim-led Social Democratic party. Others who want occupancy must
pay him 1,200 POUNDS.’

What of the fraudulent exploits of former President of Croatia, Franjo Tudjman.
According to The Sunday Times 18th June 2000, BILLIONS of pounds looted from
state funds in Croatia by Tudjman and his cronies were laundered through banks
in London and off-shore accounts in the Channel Islands and the Caribbean. In
1999 Tudjman sold part of the national Croatian mobile telephone service to
Deutsche Telekom for 60 MILLION pounds. The proceeds were deposited in an Irish
bank account under Ireland’s off-shore money laundering system.

What of the fortunes involved in the heroin trade run by the US-backed Kosovo
Liberation Army (now part of NATO’s Kosovo Protection Force):

‘Kosovo remains a lawless society, completely intolerant of ethnic minorities
and one of the most dangerous places on earth.’ James Bisset, former Canadian
ambassador to Yugoslavia. Ottawa Citizen June 22nd 2002.

‘The drug barons of Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia have become the new economic
elite, often linked to important Western commercial interests. The income from
trafficking in drugs and arms was then recycled into other illegal activities
like networks of prostitution’. Michel Collon. ‘Two Years Later – where is
Yugoslavia’. November 2002.

‘What is clear is that it is the people of ex Yugoslavia, many of whom never
wished for the break up of their country, who have been the big losers. As
economic problems mount up, the novelty of statehood seems less appealing in
Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia, and Serbia and Montenegro are under a state of
emergency. Kosovo is Europe’s first mafia-run state, while the poor Bosnians
have the ultimate humiliation of being governed by Lord (Paddy) Ashdown’.
(Journalist Neil Clark in his ‘Elegy for Yugoslavia 2002’.)

‘While KLA leaders were shaking hands with US Secretary of State Madeleine
Albright at Rambouillet, Europol (the European Police Organisation based in the
Hague) was ‘preparing a report for European interior and justice ministers on a
connection between the KLA and Albanian drug gangs’. Michel Chossudovsky

‘Albanian gangsters have established a grip on Britain’s sex trade by using
extreme violence.

Vice squad officers estimate that Albanians now control more than 75% of the
country’s brothels and their operations in London’s Soho alone are worth more
than 15 million pounds a year.

They are present in every big city, with Albanian-run brothels recently
uncovered in Glasgow, Liverpool and Cardiff as well as in provincial strongholds
including Telford and Lancaster. Police say that armed Albanian pimps have
scared off underworld rivals. The women they traffic from Eastern Europe are
petrified of giving evidence against them. A few women who have dared to testify
describe being raped, beaten and starved.

They are warned that if they try to escape their families back home will be
harmed. One senior Scotland Yard officer told The Times: ‘Pimps have always used
violence but these Albanian gangs are truly vicious.

Many of the Albanian mobsters came here as refugees fleeing Balkan wars. They
used established people-trafficking routes through the former Yugoslavia to
smuggle girls from several countries including Moldova, Lithuania and Ukraine.’
Daniel McGrory – The Times 9 London) – 17th July 2004.

The following item is taken from -
Defeating ‘Terrorism?’ – The Real Questions by Professor Raymond Kent, Emeritus,
History Department, University of California at Berkeley USA -
‘Here comes the first question. Are we opposed to and willing to fight against
terrorism directed at all lawful governments and the citizens of their
particular states? Our own record here is far from being very “clean.” Different
U.S. Administrations have trained the Contras in Latin America , the Albanian
UCK at Kosovo, the Afghans against the Soviets, the Croats and the Bosnian
Muslims against the Serbs, the Kurds against Iraq and Turkey, only to dump them
afterwards. Why is it that “humanitarian” interventions abroad gratify the egos
of so many influential people at home but turn the local populations --even the
once openly pro-American-- into real and or alleged “enemies.?” If the pattern
of supporting terrorists that fit our foreign policy predilections does not
visibly and clearly suffer defeat at home, we simply cannot win the war against
terrorism directed at American targets.

The basic, very first step, is to forbid by law (with built-in heavy penalties,
including expulsion from Congress)) that our Solons may not engage in support of
this or that ethnicity abroad as a result of funds donated to them by
American-ethnic PACs. The harm abroad, generated by one or more influential
representatives in the Congress can be locally catastrophic, setting the stage
for endless future bloodshed. Perhaps the most pointed example is the support of
Robert Dole for Greater Albania when he was one of the most powerful members of
Congress as well as Presidential Candidate. This kind of support has served to
destabilize Macedonia and threaten Greece, Serbia and Montenegro. Bob Dole could
not care less. The Macedonians, the Greeks, the Serbs and the Montenegrins could
not care more. The all-powerful Albanian clans cannot stop demanding “minority
rights” outside Kosovo and “majority rights” in Kosovo. They have been astute in
securing repeatedly the support of the current world power, as they did in the
case of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy in the 1940’s. The antecedent of the KLA
(Kosovo Liberation Army or UCK) is the S.S. Skenderbeg Division which “cleansed”
Kosovo ethnically through massive killings and generalized terror against the
once-dominant Serb majority at Kosovo. This has continued since Kosovo went
under U.N. and occupation by NATO troops. While Americans of Serb origins won
eight Congressional Medals of Honour in two World Wars, they were no match for
the Americans of Albanian provenance in securing any Congressional support. The
Albanian-American PACs have donated large amounts of money to carefully selected
Solons in Washington. The steady support for Greater Albania came into force and
it is still extant. It is not a great secret where the money came from.
Albanian-Americans once dominated the drug-traffic in New York and New Jersey,
until the Mafia struck back. This is an example which illustrates the volatile
consequences of “purchasing” our Solons by the PACs of a single ethnic group at
home. This example can be multiplied easily. but it serves to make the
point. There was a chance of arriving at an Albanian-Serb modus vivendi at
Kosovo. The vast majority of ethnic Albanians and ethnic Serbs cannot be defned
by their own extreme elements. Bob Dole killed that chance before it was born.
He did receive a handful of ducats’.

From the San Francisco Chronicle, 2nd October 2003 – (As appear in Michel
Chossudovsky’s – Regime Rotation in America … 23.10.03

Former NATO chief Wesley Clark’s statement hints to a cover-up in the 9/11 joint
Senate-House inquiry, regarding Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which he identifies
as ‘terrorist sponsors’. In other words, the Retired Four Star General tacitly
acknowledges the insidious role played by Washington’s indefectible ally, the
military government of President Pervez Musharraf, which is known to have
supported Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
It is important that we understand the political motivations behind Wesley
Clark’s position.
While his observations regarding the Bush administration are accurate, his own
record is tainted.
During his stint as NATO Supreme Commander (1997-2000), Wesley Clark was in
permanent liaison with the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). Under Wesley Clark’s
command, NATO directly sponsored a terrorist paramilitary army, with links to Al
Qaeda and the trans-Balkan narcotics trade.’
About turn: a former ‘terrorist sponsor’ (to use his own words) under NATO
auspices is now accusing the Bush administration of ‘seizing on the September 11
attacks for justification (to wage war)’.
San Francisco Chronicle, 2nd October 2003

‘By the time the NATO air strikes began, the Clinton Administration’s
partnership with the KLA was unambiguous … Such an effusive embrace by top
Clinton Administration officials of an organisation that only a year ago one of
its own top officials labelled as ‘terrorist’ is, to say the least, a startling
development. Even more importantly, the new Clinton/KLA partnership may obscure
troubling allegations about the KLA that the Clinton administration has thus far
neglected to address’.

(Senate republican Party Committee, The Kosovo Liberation army: does Clinton
Policy Support Group with Terror, Drug ties? http://www.kosovo.com/rpc.html,
Washington, March 31st, 1999).

‘Bin Laden and the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) –The role of the KLA as a
terrorist organisation is amply documented by Congressional transcripts.
According to Frank Ciluffo of the Globalised Organised Crime Program, in a
testimony presented to the House of representatives Judicial Committee:
‘’What was largely hidden from public view was the fact that the KLA raise part
of their funds from the sale of narcotics. Albania and Kosovo lie at the heart
of the ‘Balkan route’ that links the ‘golden crescent’ of Afghanistan and
Pakistan to the drug market of Europe. This route is worth an estimated $400
BILLION a year and handles 80% of heroin destined for Europe’.

Heroin Finances Rebel Onslaught
By Ian Bruce – 21st February 2002
‘Albanian separatist rebels have been selling stockpiled Afghan heroin to
finance a new spring offensive in Macedonia by buying millions of pounds worth
of weapons on the Balkan black market.

Officials from the UN’s drugs control programme say the militants have bought
enough firepower to equip a 2000 guerilla force.

The inclusion of anti-aircraft weapons in the drugs for arms deals to replace
that hardware is thought to be a deliberate move to counter the Macadonian
government’s purchase of Mi 24 helicopter gunships and Su 25 ground attack
aircraft from the Ukraine. Albanians and Kosovars now control most of the heroin
trade between central Asia and Europe, according to the UN, ousting the Russian
and Turkish mafias who formerly controlled distribution.
Three former members of the Kosovo Liberation Army were arrested in Norway last
month with 120lb of the substance in their possession. Scandinavia’s biggest
ever operation and an indication that the Albanian crime networks are spreading
their wings.

The UN estimates between 30 Billion pound sterling and 50 Billion pound sterling
worth of heroin from the bumper poppy crops of 1999 and 2000, was stockpiled by
Taliban controllers, and Pakistani and Afghan dealers. It is enough to supply
every addict in Europe for the next three years.

Consequences of this are now being moved from storage depots in Uzbekistan and
Tajikistan to be sold in a European market worth at least 12 Billion pound
sterling a year. Much of it was shifted by mule train out of Afghanistan as
America launched its bombing campaign last November.’

‘Ten years ago we were arming and equipping the worst elements of the Mujahedeen
in Afghanistan – drug traffickers and arms smugglers … Now we’re doing the same
thing with the KLA, which is tied in with every known middle and far eastern
drug cartel. Interpol, Europol and nearly every European intelligence and
counter-narcotics agency has files open on drug syndicates that lead right to
the KLA, and right to Albanian gangs in this country.'’(New American Magazine,

_Embarrassing his Western Captors – was the headline to a similar
article written by Jesse Lawrence and published in the Morning Star on 26th
August 2004 –
Jessica wrote – “After 2 years of presenting evidence against the former
Yugoslavia president Slobodan Milosevic, the prosecution’s mammoth case at the
International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia finally ended in
February this year. He is due to start his defence on August 31st.
After originally indicting Milosevic for war crimes in Kosovo, the prosecution
hastily added indictments from the civil wars in Croatia and Bosnia once he had
been traded by the pro-US faction of a new and divided Yugoslav government for
$1 Billion of international loans. The reason for this inclusion of Croatia and
Bosnia was that the prosecution wasn’t confident in its ability to make the
Kosovo allegations stick.

This was highlighted in September 2001, when a UN/(NATO) sponsored court
referred to the Geneva Convention to conclude that no “genocide” or “ethnic
cleansing” had taken place in Kosovo. And so it was that, a month later,
Milosevic was charged with committing crimes against humanity in Croatia,
swiftly followed by genocide in Bosnia. By blaming Milosevic for every war crime
committed under the sun during a decade of civil wars that engulfed and broke up
Yugoslavia – and ignoring the roles of Tudjman, Izetbegovic and the Kosovo
Liberation Army (KLA) – the prosecution is doing its utmost to ensure that
enough dirt will stick for Milosevic to go down for life.

So, 66 indictments, 300 trial days, 600,000 pages of documents to read, 30,000
trial transcripts to study, 5,000 videos to analyse, 295 prosecution witnesses
to examine, 140 MILLION pounds cost to the public of NATO countries and one dead
judge later, has the prosecution made a convincing case? Not really. There is no
‘smoking gun’ and no hard evidence to prove that Milosevic was directly
responsible for countless alleged atrocities.”
(As mentioned already – NOT ONE OF THE 295 PROSECUTION WITNESSES COULD
PROVE THEIR CASE AGAINST MR MILOSEVIC).

Jesse Lawrence continued – “Representing himself against what he describes as
‘an ocean of lies’. Milosevic has materialised into an effective cross-examiner.
Despite a patter of hidden witnesses, heresay evidence, edited court transcripts
and constant restrictions imposed on his questioning, Milosevic has managed not
only to emphasise the role of Western governments and secret services in
Yugoslavia’s destruction but has even succeeded in raising serious doubts over
whether certain atrocities actually happened”.

WEAK CASE AGAINST MILOSEVIC HAS HAGUE IN 'A PANIC'

Massacres in Kosovo never happened, say Canadians who investigated mass
graves

Bruce Garvey

The war crimes tribunal in The Hague is "beginning to panic" over its
case against former Serbian president Slobodan Milosevic according to a
Vancouver detective sent to unearth mass graves in Kosovo and a Canadian
filmmaker who documented the exhumations.

"I would think they'll have a tough time with the charge of genocide
with only 5,000 bodies," said retired Vancouver detective sergeant Brian
Honeybourn. "It seems as though The Hague is beginning to panic."

Mr. Milosevic's trial is to resume next week with the former Serbian
dictator defending himself against charges of genocide and crimes
against humanity. Former Canadian Supreme Court justice Louise Arbour
made history when she laid the charges -- the first against a head of
state -- as the tribunal's special prosecutor.

Calgary filmmaker Garth Pritchard and Sgt. Honeybourn are critical of
Ms. Arbour, now UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and her claims
that the Serbs, directed by Mr. Milosevic, murdered as many as 200,000
civilians during its ethnic cleansing of Kosovo.

The alleged massacres were used by U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine
Albright and Western leaders as justification for their bombing campaign
and intervention in Kosovo, and were regularly and routinely reported as
fact on television networks such as the CBC and CNN, as the West backed
the Albanian Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) against the Serbs.

"This was a massacre that never happened," Mr. Pritchard maintains.

"I was standing there when the forensic teams were telling Louise Arbour
there were no 200,000 bodies and she didn't want to know."

Mr. Pritchard, who has produced more than a dozen documentaries on the
Balkan and Afghan wars, said yesterday he has been approached by Hague
prosecutors to testify in their case against Mr. Milosevic after turning
down a request to appear as a defence witness for the former president.

"I was telephoned by an RCMP officer seconded to the Hague tribunal's
investigative unit, a corporal named Tom Steenvoorden, who told me the
total number of bodies they have recovered amounts to 5,080, which is a
far cry from 200,000," he told the Citizen.

"I want someone like Peter Mansbridge or Ms. Arbour to tell me where the
other 195,000 bodies are. This is a massacre that never happened."

Mr. Pritchard said he refused to co-operate with the Hague prosecutors,
just as he had with representatives of Mr. Milosevic.

Other Canadians who have been named as potential defence witnesses
include Citizen reporter David Pugliese and retired Maj.-Gen Lewis
MacKenzie, who have both said they will refuse, and war correspondent
and magazine publisher Scott Taylor, who has agreed to defend articles
he wrote for the Citizen from Kosovo.

Sgt. Honeybourn and forensic team leader Brian Strongman echoed Mr.
Pritchard's doubts that the genocidal massacre by the Serbs ever took
place.

"I can't say that there weren't 200,000 bodies because I wasn't covering
the entire country," said Sgt. Honeybourn.

"But I never saw any sign of anything like 200,000. If there were that
many, then why did they have us exhuming single graves? The biggest mass
grave we examined contained about 20 and there was another one of 11.
But mostly our nine-member team worked on single graves."

Mr. Strongman said he recalls that exhumations by the Canadian group and
11 other international teams never matched the "rumours" of mass graves
holding the bodies of many thousands.

"We only spent 45 days there," he said, "but I believe the largest mass
grave we investigated held 20 bodies. I was in Bosnia and remember one
mass grave that held 200 -- certainly we never saw anything like that in
Kosovo. Of course, Louise Arbour and people had to talk about figures
like 200,000 to justify bringing in NATO."

Sgt. Honeybourn, a veteran of more than 30 years of police work, was a
member of the first Canadian forensic specialist team that joined units
from several western countries in the search for the alleged 200,000
buried victims.

Now he maintains that the Hague staff under Ms. Arbour was confused and
incompetent.

"Our resources were not maximized, simple as that," he said. "There
seemed to be a pronounced lack of co-ordination, which was extremely
frustrating. I don't think we were deployed properly."

In the six weeks Sgt. Honeybourn spent digging up fetid graves in Kosovo
during the sweltering summer of 1999, the Canadian team exhumed 86
bodies.

Outside of being able to give information to family members of bodies
they exhumed and identified, he regarded the mission, which cost Canada
more than $1.2 million, as an investigative failure and "a waste of
time

THE HAGUE TRIBUNAL: CHARGES AGAINST MILOSEVIC PURE FANTASY

[Excerpts from the interview with the former Canadian Ambassador to
Yugoslavia, James Bissett, September 27, 2004]

Stalled by reluctant witnesses and an uncooperative defendant, judges in
Slobodan Milosevic's war crimes trial adjourned the proceedings for a
month Wednesday (15. September 2004) to give the former Yugoslav
president's court-appointed lawyers time to prepare their case. At least
20 of Milosevic's witnesses, including high-level foreign politicians,
have refused to show up since the court limited Milosevic's ability to
mount his own defense. Milosevic faces 66 counts of war crimes for his
alleged criminal role in atrocities committed during the violent breakup
of the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s. Those are very serious charges
with potential consequences for the whole Serbian nation.

Mr. James Bissett, former Canadian ambassador to Yugoslavia is one of
foreign politicians who refused to go to The Hague to testify. His
refusal to testify has prompted the media at home and abroad to ask him
to explain why he made this decision?

One of the fundamental principles of law is that if you are accused of
something that you have right to defend yourself. That is enshrined in
law and has been for many centuries. It is one of the core principles of
the law. Even the Constitution of the Tribunal itself makes it clear
that all of the defendants have right to defend themselves if they
choose to do so, including Mr. Milosevic.

Yet the Tribunal has now decided to take that right away from him. This
decision served to confirm my early suspicions that the Tribunal was
really a political court. It was the final straw that convinced me I did
not want to be a witness at the trial. It was my own decision. I was
surprised, but pleased, to see that most of the other witnesses agreed
not to appear.

Mr. James Bissett was Canadian ambassador to Yugoslavia in 1992.

Slobodan Milosevic was born on August 20th, 1941 in the town Pozarevac.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Belgrade University in
1964. He used to be one of the most successful Yugoslav businessman and
managers in seventies and eighties.
He was in two mandates elected President of the Republic of
Serbia (elections in 1990 and 1992) in the period 1990-1997.
He was elected as President of the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia for the period 1997-2001.
Slobodan Milosevic was founder (in 1990) of the Socialist Party
of Serbia and he is the President of the Socialist Party of Serbia, the
strongest and largest opposition party in Serbia and Yugoslavia.

The name and activities of the President Slobodan Milosevic have
been always related to the preservation of Yugoslavia and the most important
state and national interests of our country and our people. Under his
leadership, democratic and economic reforms have been performed in Serbia
and Yugoslavia, protecting social character of the state, its freedom and
independence.

President Slobodan Milosevic used to be the strongest pillar of
peace and stability in this region. He has given the most important and
crucial contribution to all efforts to reestablish peace and stability in
the region, including to the Dayton/Paris Peace Agreement.

President Slobodan Milosevic strongly advocated peaceful
resolution of the problem of Serbia's Province Kosovo and Metohija. However,
he could not accept the occupation of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
which was tried to be imposed through the so called Rambouillet Accord.

President Slobodan Milosevic led the resistance of our people
and country against NATO aggression that represented clear violation of
international law and crime against peace.

President Slobodan Milosevic has been imprisoned by the current
regime on April 01st, 2001 under false and forged accusations on so called
abuse of official position.

President Slobodan Milosevic was kidnapped and illegally
delivered to the so called Hague "Tribunal" on June 28th, 2001 in an act
which represents violation of both Yugoslav and Serbian Constitution and
relevant laws.

He was kidnapped on St. Vitus day - holly day for whole Serbian nation - to
produce national humiliation that has been never recorded in the history of
Yugoslavia and Serbia.

President Slobodan Milosevic is one of the biggest national heroes in the
history of Yugoslavia and Serbia. He is living symbol of our freedom,
future, independence, resistance, heroism and glory.
